Chapter 15: Hotel Vahemoria

The yellow grass ground burned and dried under the violet heat as Met Visogue stomped across the fields. The journey itself was silent with only the whistle of wind grooming the fields in her ears. But the same could not for her mind.

"I just need some time away right now," rang through Met Visogue's head over and over, yanking at the part of her that wanted to believe in Eyawa. That part of her wanted to turn away, pursue other endeavors or maybe even go home to Orogia and rest for a change but, that side of her hadn't gotten its way in decades.

Met Visogue halted herself signaled for her little companion to do the same.

"Oh, we can stop? It's a fuckin' miracle," Draven celebrated dryly and laid back on the ground.

"There is a barrier here. If we walk into it the Vahemorians will be aware of our presence."

"I don't see anything."

"I know," Met Visogue said as she peered into Niyamako.

The barrier was now physical, taking the shape of bloodshot mist that subtly formed into bat-like faces. She ignited her imageon and opened a distorted tunnel with the ground under the barrier spreading the red mist outward.

"Quickly, through this tunnel," she pointed and Draven hesitated for a moment before entering.

Met Visogue closed the entrance and they made their way through the field like bugs crawling under a layer of skin.

"How are you doing this?"

"My imageon path, Deep Black, allows me to distort things I please."

"Huh, I wasn't actually expecting you to answer that. I thought it would be like showing your hand or something."

"For some yes, but there's no reason for me to hide mine. It's not the kind of ability that requires certain specifications be met before it can be used effectively and besides it's not like I have anything to fear from you."

"Point. Well since you're feeling all secure. You mind filling me in on why we're going after Eyawa?"

"Yes," Visogue answered dryly.

"Look I'm just saying the whole stalking thing's not really heal-"

"The only reason I'm keeping you alive is to make figuring her out easier."

"...Oh well shit, stalk her ass then. No complaints here."

After some time, Met Visogue's distorted earth pocket opened and revealed a giant lake that harbored a massive storm. "They seem to have gone the extra mile for security," Met Visogue commented.

"So Vahemoria is in there? How are we going to get through that?"

"How else? We swim."

"Swim? Look I know you lotanians don't give a shit about your lives, but humans have this little thing called self-preservation."

"Oh, quit being a bitch. I wasn't actually expecting you to survive those waters,"

"Then how are we supposed to-"

Met Visogue ate Draven and leaped into the water, her body inflating and reshaping into a bloated, bone spiked, corruption of a fish with her giant bone crown sitting idle her head as she darted through the water.

"Where is my suit?!" Eyawa growled as she tore through the locker room, throwing down fine silky robes at the feet of Aapti, Orunya, and Kaga.

"What's going on?"
