Chapter 13: Invasive Predator
"Draven! Draven!" Kaga yelled as she beat on the thick wall of vegetation.
"It's no use, Ananqwe probably already has him," Eyawa warned.
Kaga sprang up stomped over to Eyawa.
"You shut the fuck up! He would be here if it wasn't for you!" Kaga chastised with her finger flailing about.
Eyawa smacked her hand.
"If it wasn't for me we'd all be dead. The only reason I got through the maze the first time was because I promised him a human and don't put your hand in my face again."
"What's going to happen to him?" Orunya sulked.
"Look there is no reason for you to be concerned about that anymore. We need to get to Vahemoria."
"As if we'd go anywhere with you after this!" Aapti barked.
"As if you had a choice! What would any of you do out here without me! You can't even speak our languages, you can barely handle yourself against the most minuscule threats Lotania poses, and if you think there is another lotanian on this damn continent that is willing to go through what I am for you three to get back home you've got another thing coming!"
"You know what, why is that? Why are you so bent on getting us home in the first place huh?! What do you get out of it?!"
Eyawa hesitated, she for certain she didn't want to part with her reasons but if she had any hope of achievement, she might not have the luxury.
"I was wronged sometime ago and I don't have the strength to kill who did it. So this is the next best thing."
"You seem pretty tough to us," Aapti said skeptically.
"Not like him, he's a god."
"If he doesn't have tusks of platinum he's not a god," Orunya spoke.
"And I hope you get to keep believing that."
Hours later...
"Are they gone yet, G'monga?" Met Visogue huffed.
She'd been sitting patiently in G'monga's study waiting for Yorgard to take its rest. It was a longer wait than she'd expected but with the death of their dictator tensions have been high and she figured the last thing they needed was to bear witness to yet another Orogian outsider. Especially one of her aesthetic.
"G'monga!"
The door swung open and G'ravek stepped in with hands flowing with imageon lightning.
"Just when I thought the day was over," G'ravek growled.
"Oh, hey there nephew," Met Visogue smiled revealing her thick bottom tusks.
After some de-escalating, G'monga brought G'ravek and Met Visogue out to the front. The restaurant was covered in confetti, emptied plates, and the long since burnt remains of fireworks.
"I see they've been handling the loss of their Yorgum quite well." Met Visogue thought.
"I still can't believe that the one who saved me all those years ago was Met Visogue." G'ravek reviewed.
"You make it sound unlikely."
"Well before today I'd only heard about ya in campfire horror stories."
Met Visogue looked back into the kitchen and frowned at G'monga as she fired up her grill.
"Your mother was supposed to tell you about me. "
