Chapter Nine

Normani's POV

After Y/n ran off we all looked at Blair for an explanation. She sighed. "As much as I would like to explain how much of a bitch you guys have been, I have a friend to look after."

She started to move. "I can go after her," I offered. Blair gave me a look of consideration. "Please."

Blair nodded. "Go to the graveyard. You'll find her there." I nodded and ran off. Time to learn the truth.

Blair's POV

Once Normani left the other girls looked at me again. "Take a seat," I gestured to the couch. "It's gonna be a long story." They all sat down as Ally got ice for Lauren's now red cheek. She handed it to her and sat down herself. I sighed. "Y/n is a good person-"

Lauren scoffed. "Doubt that."

"Let her finish," Ally scolded.

"Y/n is a good person," I started again, "she's just been through a lot. She tries to hide her feelings. That's why she comes off as bitchy. She just doesn't want to be vulnerable."

"We all have to be vulnerable sometimes," Ally spoke. "To let people in otherwise you'll have no one."

"That's the problem," I explained. "She doesn't want to let people in."

"Why not?" Camila asked.

"Because she's scared."

"Scared of what?" Dinah asked.

"Scared that she'll lose them."

"People leave all the time is not a big deal," Lauren spoke.

I glared at her. "Have you ever lost them when neither of you wanted to leave?" She looked at me confused. "Have you lost them to death?" Once I said that the girls faces all showed one of realization.

"Who'd she lose?" Ally asked genuinely sad.

I looked down. "Her little sister." I looked back up and saw Lauren's head was down.

"I had no idea," she spoke softly.

"How could you?" I asked rhetorically. "She never talks about it."

"I'm such a bitch!" She scolded herself.

I nodded. "Yeah, you are. Next time someone comes off as bitchy don't assume that's just who they are. Really think about it. They probably have a reason." Lauren nodded.

"How'd she die? Her little sister that is," Camila asked.

"Cancer. She had leukemia. Fought it for two years."

"If you don't mind me asking, why does she not look at Normani?" Dinah asked.

I gave a small smile. "Her little sister, Ellie, loved you guys. Probably the biggest fan you had. Saw you on X Factor and rooted for you all the way. She especially loved Normani. Constantly told Y/n she was going to be just like her. That's why she can't look at Normani. Whenever she does she doesn't just see her she sees Ellie. It's too painful for her."

"So why'd you let Mani go after her then?" Lauren asked.

"Because she needs to talk about it. It's time she does. She needs to tell her. Even if she doesn't want to." They all nodded. "I just hope it goes well."
