Blair's POV:

Just do it, I convince myself. I jab my thumb onto Asher's name and it starts to dial. Suddenly, my stomach fills with butterflies like it's about to explode.

He answers the phone.

"H-hello? Asher?" I call out into the phone. In the background, I can hear loud music. He must be at a party.

"I'm sorry, who is this?" A girl's voice answers.

"I should be asking you the same thing. Where is Asher?" I ask.

"Oh," she pauses to giggle, "He's upstairs with Cara." She says, and hangs up. I stare at the phone, stunned.

My heart feels like it has shattered into a million pieces. Forget that jerk! I race after Nick and try to catch up to him.

"Nick!" I shout. He spins around and stops, waiting for me to catch up.

"Yeah?" He asks when I reach him, out of breath.

"I'm sorry. I don't know what I was thinking earlier. I was being stupid. You're the one I want." I say and I lean in to kiss him.

He reacts and swiftly moves his hand up to my cheek, holding me steady. His lips feel warm and soft, but not quite like Asher's. Stop it, stop thinking about him.

He finally pulls away and smiles at me.

"We should probably get back to the university before they catch us out after hours." He says, intertwining our hands together.

We walk at a steady beat together, back to the dorms. My hand fit snugly into his soft hands. Nick was taller than me, just to where I could rest my head against his shoulder as we walked.

It was a peaceful night and nothing stirred. The lights shined perfectly against the lonely streets. Maybe I was meant to choose Nick after all. Maybe I was meant to just forget about Asher all together.

Asher's POV:

The music booms in my ears, as I take another swig of the whiskey that Kevin gave me a few hours back. I'm already mostly done with it, feeling dizzier by each drink.

"Hey man, I want you to come meet Cara." Kevin says and drags me towards this so called "Cara."

"Cara, I want you to meet my roommate Asher. You take good care of him." Kevin smirks and winks at us, while leaving to chase some other girl.

"Wait! Kevin!" I shout. He turns around and waits for me to talk.

"C-can you t-take my phone and l-let me know i-if Blair calls." I slur, handing him my phone.

"Sure thing bro. Now go along with Cara." He says, smirking.

"Well, hi Asher. Why don't we take a look upstairs now, shall we." She says while placing her hands on me and leading me up the stairs.

Drunkenly, I followed and nearly stumbled on the last step. I knew where this was leading but I couldn't comprehend it all, given my state.

She leads me into a room and shuts the door. Instantly, she pushes me onto the bed and straddles me.

She leans down and starts to make out with me then works her way down my body, sucking on my skin.

I go along with it and let her take my mind off of Blair. Wait, Blair! I push Cara off of me and sit up.

"Stop. I-i can't do this." I slur my words.

"Stop saying that. You don't know what you want with that drunken mind." She says and pushes me back down, but I stop her.
