The moon was bright compared to the blackness of night. The streets were quiet besides the crickets.
Ivy was bored, so very bored. She laid in bed, her pink hair all over her pillows. She sighed. She could text Malena, but she said she "had other plans."
She could text Vivian, but she was always mean to her specifically.
She could text Devon or Alissa, but they were both working again on the night shift.
She then thought about Spencer. She picked up her phone and began to text.

Ivy: "Hey, Spence."
Spencer: "Sup Ivy?"
Ivy: "You wanna hang out?"
Spencer: "Isn't it past your bed time?"
Ivy: "Ha ha, nice curfew joke."
Spencer: "Lol"
Ivy: "But seriously, you available?"

There was no response. It was strange, Spencer usually responded right away. She started to play phone games, until she heard a small thud against the window. She walked over to look outside.
A small brown bat was sitting patiently while rubbing its head. Ivy sighed and she opened the window. The bat flew in.
In a second, the bat became Spencer. Her brown hair was messy, and her clothes were slightly ragged.
"You know, you should warn me when you transform," Ivy mentioned. "Then maybe I'd open a window for you."
Spencer sighed as she fixed her hair. "But then that's not as fuuun~" Spencer joked.
A few months ago, Spencer told Ivy that she was a shapeshifter after Ivy caught Spencer shifting. She usually preferred the bat form, and Ivy has been very accepting.
Spencer and Ivy were on Ivy's large bean bag. Ivy sat in front of Spencer while cuddling, and they played Xbox competitively. Ivy sighed. "You know, you should tell them the truth soon."
Spencer shook her head. "They'll be okay if we're gay," she replied.
"That's not what I meant. I meant your powers, they'll find out eventually. You should tell them before that happens."
   "I will."
   "Do you promise?"
   "I promise."
