They were late, making my anger worse. They were supposed to be back here 35 minutes ago.
"Where are they!?" I growled. I flipped open my phone, dialing the number of my Beta.
"Hello, Sir?" His voice came from the small device.
"Where are you?!" I growled, gripping the phone. "You were supposed to be here 35 minutes ago!"
"I'm sorry, sir, we got....caught up."
"Well, hurry up!"
I didn't give him time to answer, ending the call and shoving the phone into my pocket before resuming my pacing around my office. Being an Alpha and an older brother is hard, especially when your younger sister seems to believe that you know everything that she wants for her birthday. She gave me a two-week notice that she was having a large birthday party, and that gave me two weeks to find something for her.
"Hey, big bro?"
Well, speak of the devil.
A small teenage girl stepped into my office, closing the door behind her. Her hair was black, like mine, but her eyes were golden, unlike mine, which was silver.
"What's wrong? I heard you yelling on the phone."
"It's nothin'. " I sat, running a hand through my hair. "I'm just a little stressed."
She shrugged sheepishly.
"Sorry for such short notice, bro. I thought you already knew."
"You're fine."
"Alpha."
My beta spoke to me in a mind-link.
"What?"
"We're back, and we have a little surprise you need to come to see."
"Alright, I'm on my way."
I ended the mind link, passing by my sister. I walked through the territory, nodding in greeting some of my pack members before I reached the middle of the large territory, seeing my beta standing there with Ryan, one of my fighters. He had his arm around a young blonde, who looked like a child in front of a clown.
"What did you need?" I asked Erick, turning to him.
He smirked, pulling a young girl from behind him, throwing her onto the ground. Her orange hair flowed behind her as she hit the dirt, her eyes turning to glare at my Beta, her hands tied tightly behind her back.
"I feel bad for the woman who falls for you. Send her my sympathy." She said, her voice like silk.
His smirk fell and immediately turned into a scowl.
"Why you---"
"Stop, Erick," I growled, smelling a sweet scent emitting from the girl.
He growled but held his tongue. I knelt in front of the girl, grasping her chin in my fingers before lifting and turning her chin, making her gaze fall on me. Her eyes were hard and strong, not at all faltering underneath my gaze. Her eyes were vibrant green, just like the very woods I loved to run through. They even had speckles of molten gold scattered around them like snowflakes. They stared into my silver ones with fire and ice mixed into one. I lowered my face to her neck, breathing deeply. She shivered as an intoxicating scent filled my nostrils.
'Mate!!!' My wolf howled.
I growled in my chest, releasing her chin and raising my feet.
"Bring her to my room," I said, looking at Erick.
"O....kay Alpha." He said with hesitation. He grabbed her arm, yanking her to her feet. "Hurry up you."
"Don't you dare hurt her," I growled darkly.
He nodded, tugging her towards my home as I turned towards my fighter.
"Who's she?" I asked, jerking my head towards the shivering girl in his arm.
He beamed.
"She's my mate."
I nodded. She was human, but I knew that if anyone could make her feel safe, it was Ryan.
"Congrats. Now I have my own matters to attend to if you'll excuse me." I said, turning on my heel and marching towards the mansion I called home.

Upon reaching my room, I opened the door to the small orange-haired girl, her tied hands sawing at the bonds with my knife. She's a snooper. She grinned triumphantly as the bonds came undone around her wrists, me taking that my cue to make my presence known. But as I went to knock, she stood and stretched; a loud moan of satisfaction grew from her throat.
I lost it.
I stormed over to her, grabbing her shoulder and turning her to face me. Her eyes widened in surprise as I shoved her back onto the bed, hovering over her, her wrists trapped by my own hands.
"Mine," I growled, my eyes swirling black as my wolf took over.
She squeaked as I nipped her ear, and she yelped when I ran my nose over her neck, locating the spot where her shoulder and neck met. I could feel my canines poking at my lip as I opened them, preparing to mark her.
"Get off of me!"
