Noah Pov
I snarled and plunged my fist into the wall, my eyes dripping black, and my canines stretching past my lower lip. I growled.
"Where is she?!" I bellowed, staring down at her guards as they bowed deeply at my feet, trembling slightly.
"W-W-We're s-sorry Alpha! B-But w-we c-can't find M-Mindy e-either!" One yelped, keeping his face to the ground.
Just then, Mindy popped through my office door, humming and picking at her fingernails, something she did when she did something stupid. She looked up, her eyes were untroubled.
"Who pissed in your fruit loops?" She asked, raising an eyebrow.
I stormed up to her, my teeth grinding.
"Where is she?!" I snarled.
She rose her eyebrow at me, as if not sure who I was talking about.
"What do you mean? Who's missing?" She asked.
I growled, slamming my fist into the wall beside her head.
"Do not play with me, Mindy." I snarled. "I know very well that you know where my mate is. Now...." Fur began to sprout from my body. I was beyond pissed...I was furious. "Where. Is. She?!"
She blinked at me, showing little to no fear in my rage. She broke eye contact.
"I can't tell you."
"WHY?!" I screamed.
"I promised that I would let her go home. That she would be able to escape you." She glared into my eyes. "She would have been miserable here, so I let her be free." She tilted her head. "I thought you of all people would know that werefoxes don't like being caged."
With a final snarl, I tore the door from its hinges and stormed out of the house, glaring at anyone who looked my way. Leaping into the forest surrounding my home, I shifted mid-jump, my wolf's paws pounding against the ground, dirt flying. Slowing, I rose my head, sniffing the air. Deer was nearby. Good.
I needed to kill.
I skidded to a halt, panting ever so slightly. I crouched, placing my paws on the ground with an expert touch. My fur brushed against the bushes silently as I peeked past them, spotting my victim. A full-grown buck, his antlers at a piercing edge. He grazed peacefully with his women, ears flicking left and right. I slunk closer, my paws silent against the ground. A low snarl fell from my throat, making the deer go on edge. They shot up their heads, glancing around, ears at a point. I waited, eager to feel his flesh between my jaws. Slowly, they began to relax, returning their heads to the grass below them. The buck moved closer, getting to a new patch of grass near my hiding spot.
Now.
I lunged, my jaws wrapping around the buck's thick neck. He screamed, a hollow sound from the tip of his throat. The females scattered, bolting as he thrashed in my jaws.
I tore at his throat, blood gushing from the wound and into my fur. I ripped his skin, burying my teeth into his flesh. All I saw was red, his screams of pain music to my ears. Blood waterfalled and gushed, painting the grass red. His body twitched and flailed one last time before he laid still, his eyes dead of life. My face and fur were drenched in blood, dripping onto the dirt. I was panting, the adrenaline coursing through my veins.
"Noah......."
I whipped around to see my mate. She stood there, eyes wide with horror. Her skin was pale, her body trembling as she took in my bloodied form. She backed away from me when I stepped closer. I whimpered, lowering myself onto my stomach and crawling closer, flinching when she backed away again.
"STAY AWAY FROM ME!" She screamed, bolting towards the territory.
'She'll leave us!' My wolf screamed, prodding at my thoughts. 'She'll leave and never come back! Don't let her leave!'
I panicked, bolting after her. I caught up easily, blocking her path. She skidded to a halt, falling backward onto her rear. I stepped towards her, only to have her scrambled to her feet, bolting away. She shifted mid-run, her clothing tripping her as it fell from her fur. I bolted after her, right at her tail. She leaped into the trees, leaping from one to the next, disappearing into the leaves. I followed her, my eyes on the trees. An orange blur shot from in front of me, into another tree.
Tired of this game, I sped up, lunging into the air just as she pounced from another tree. We crashed to the ground and I wrapped my jaws around her throat. She thrashed, clawing at my stomach and legs. I gave out a growl, one to force her into submission. She obeyed, her body trembling beneath me, whimpers falling from her lips. I whined and took her scruff. I bolted towards home, mind linking a pack member to get the shift room ready, the room where she and I had that argument when she finally found out that I was her mate.
We arrived, and I mind linked to having the door locked once we were inside. They did as told, the lock clicking once we had passed the door. Gently, I placed her down, watching her sadly as she pedaled away from me, pressing into a far corner. I trotted to the men's dresser, grabbing a pair of basketball shorts. Once I did, I went to the women's dresser. I pulled out a women's nightdress, tossing it towards her. She didn't do anything.
I went into the bathroom, shifting and changing. I pressed my ear to the door, praying that I would hear her shifting. A sigh of relief escaped my chest when I heard the familiar cracking of bones. The rustling of cloth came afterward, and I shot from the bathroom. She bolted towards the door, yanking at it.
"Let me out of here!" She yelled, pounding against the wood.
"Vixen wait--"
"NO! I don't want to hear it! You're a monster!" She screamed, tears pooling in her eyes.
Without thinking, I pulled her close, wrapping my arms around her tightly. I pressed her arms to her sides so she couldn't struggle.
"Vixen Listen!" I ordered, praying that she would listen.
Of course, she didn't.
"Get off of me!" She kicked at me, missing every time. "Let me go!"
"LISTEN!" I ordered again, painfully using my Alpha voice. It was the only way I could make her listen.
She whimpered and flinched, her body reacting to the command. I sighed and nuzzled my face into her neck.
"Why did you leave?"
