"LET ME OUT!!!!"
My pounding was fruitless, seeing as how the door was still intact.
"YOU KIDNAPPERS LET ME OUT JERKS!!"
I planted my foot against the wood, hearing a satisfying 'thud', but screamed as not a single dent showed in the wood.
Just an hour before, after he had spoken his last words, he left me here in the room, locking it from the outside, and blocking my only ways of escape. He even had some of his junkies stand outside his window so I didn't jump out.
Grumbling, I stormed over to the bed, falling onto it. I rose my head from the covers, laying it on my arms as tears threatened to overflow. I was scared, but I would never admit it. What will they do to me? What is happening to Layla? Why did a single choker end up with us being held captive by crazy people who live in the farthest part of town, where practically no one went? I blinked, rising and shoving my hand into my pocket, pulling the thin choker from the material. I had nearly forgotten about it, focused on the man. My lip quivered, but I sucked in my sniffles and cries. I had to be strong. For both Layla and me.
The door clicked, snapping me into reality. Swiftly, I shoved the choker into my pants pocket once again as the man walked in. I growled, scowling.
"What do you want?" I snapped.
He smirked at my anger, shaking his head.
"Well, I thought you might want to see your friend again."
My eyes widened as Layla stepped into the room, tears in her eyes.
"LAYLA!!" I bolted from the bed, crushing her in a hug. Looking up, I saw Ryan looking at her with adoration. I growled, tugging her further into my embrace. I looked back at her. "Are you alright?! They didn't do anything to you right?!"
She shook her head, throwing her arms around me and sniffling.
"Vixen, I wanna go home!" She cried.
Ryan's eyes dripped hurtfully and his smile fell, his shoulders slumping.
"Vixen huh?"
I looked up at the man from before, glaring. His pink lips were pulled into a smirk, his slender fingers pinching his chin.
"I like that name."
I growled. He blinked in surprise, startled a noise like that could come from such a throat. Ryan mirrored his expression, before their eyes glazed over, only to return to normal a second later. I sucked my teeth, I could have used that opportunity to escape, but Layla needed comforting. I turned my attention back to her, shushing her and rubbing her back as she sniffled.
"We'll leave you two alone for a minute." The man said, grabbing the handle and closing the door, the lock clicking from the other side.
"V-Vixen...I'm scared." Layla whimpered to me.
I shushed her again, kissing her head. She was trembling.
"What did Ryan do to you?! Did he do anything to you!?"
Her head shook.
"N-No...h-he just kept telling me that t-this was my home now every t-time I said I wanted to g-go home." She whimpered.
"That guy said that too. Just...a little less nicely."
She jolted her head up, her eyes wide and bloodshot.
"Did he do something to you!?"
I quickly shook my head. I didn't want to have her panicking. I lead her to the bed, letting her sit on the covers. I sat next to her, wrapping my arms once again around her.
"What do we do?" She whispered.
"I don't know," I admitted. I grit my teeth. I hated this, I hated feeling powerless, and at those jerk's mercy. I had to do something. Something to get Layla away from here. But our town is small, and we don't have enough money for gas to get out. I don't even have my driver's license. "I don't know."
She whimpered. Taking her face in my hands, I rose it, looking into her eyes.
"But..." I began. I swallowed hard. "I will get us out of here."
She nodded and wrapped me into a hug.
"You promise?"
I chuckled gently.
"Of course, after all, they can't cage a werefox for very long."
