Anne sat on the gate, swinging her legs. Her coat wrapped tightly around her body,her hat pulled low on her head.
"Anne!" Jerry cried running up to her, Cole beside him,
"Guys!" Anne said excitedly jumping down from the gate, "we just have to wait for Diana and then we can go"
"Cool" Cole said
not too long after Diana was walking over to them, "Diana!" Anne cried running over to the girl with a blue beanie pulled over her coal black hair.
"hi Anne!" She said happily,
Together all four of them began to walk to school.
"It's winter just the most Magical season?" Anne said breathlessly, "oh but so is spring, with all the flowers... and and autumn with all it's lovely colours... Oh i just can't Choose!"
Jerry,Cole and Diana chuckled at their friend.
Anne glanced at her phone, "Oh my god! Guys look at the time!" Anne began to run as fast as she could to school... Winch wasn't very fast due to the thick layer of snow on the ground.
Once the group reached the school the bell had just rung.
"Bye guys!" Anne called over her shoulder as she walked into her English class, "hello Anne nice of you to join us today" Mis Stacy said, raisin her eyes brows.
"Sorry im late Miss Stacy i wont be next time" Anne said sitting down in her usual desk.
"Ok class... I have some exciting news" Miss Stacy said with a gleam in her eyes, "next week we will be going on a school trip!"
The whole class was now filled with murmurs of excitement.
"So if you could all please write down some people you would like in your room."
"I'm so freaking excited!" Exclaimed Jane to the group of girls who had just been gossiping about the school trip.
"I know right! I have never been on a aeroplane before so i'm kinda nervous!" Anne admitted while taking a bite of her sandwich.
"Nervous about what?" Someone said behind her,
Anne spun around to face Gilbert, she glared, "none of your business"
he chuckled and walked off.
"Anne!" Diana whisper/cried "that was quite...... rude, don't you think?"
"He was being nosy." Anne explained
All the other girls sent each other knowing glances at each other before carrying on about the trip.
*time skip after schoooool*
"Ok" Anne said to Jane,Ruby and Diana, "ruby you should be Elaine, your hair is the perfect colour"
"Oh no" Ruby said shaking her head, "I could never float down there and pretent to be Dead! I... I would die of fright!"
"Anne you should be Elaine!" Diana said, "it was your idea to do this"
Anne shook her head, "no way, a Elaine with red hair just sounds... Rediculos!"
"Oh come on Anne it wouldn't matter that much and it would be so Romantical!" Jane said
Anne considered it for a moment, "okay FINE" she said walking over to the boat and lying down.
It was Anne's idea that they dramatise Elaine. They had studied Tennyson's poem in school that day...
"Oh my" ruby whispered "Anne really Does look dead..."
Anne opened one eye, "Ruby you mustn't call me by the name 'Anne' it ruins the effect"
"oh sorry" Ruby whispered.
"Diana, could you quickly fetch some flowers?" Anne asked. Quickly Diana ran off and came back less than a minute later with a handful of daises.
"Oh good bye poor Elaine, we will miss you so" Diana said woefully while laying don the flowers and pushing the boat Anne lay in, off the river bank and into the lake of shining waters.
Anne lay there, her eyes closed, oblivious to the fact that the boat was filling up with water.
Suddenly anne sat up, she was sitting in a pool of freezing water, the boat had sprung a leak!
Suddenly fear pierced her heart, im going to drown! She thaught to herself as she frantically tried to bail out the water.
As Anne was drifting under the bridge, she leaned over for one of the bridge poles,just as the whole boat sunk down under the water.
Frik Anne thought to herself as she clung to the wooden pole.
her heart was beating hard but her arms were getting weaker, her wet clothes making it harder for her to hold on.
she couldn't hold on much longer, at least it will be a romantical way to die, Anne thought to herself a tear coming to her eye, suddenly she was plunging into the dark cold water, she squeezed her eyes shut and flailed around blindly under the water. a few seconds later a strong hand wrapped around her wrist and she was pulled up to the surface, she gasped for air.
"Anne Shirley Cuthbert... what the hell are you doing?" Someone asked
Anne turned her head to see Gilbert sitting in a small row boat.
"I.. um..." Anne stuttered her chest beginning to flutter " im fishing for... Lake trout" she said dumbly.
"Lake trout" Gilbert said with laughter in his eyes, he reached and helped her into his boat.
She was now soaked through to the skin, her hair plastered to her scalp. she was shivering, "her have my coat" Gilbert said with a warm smile. she took it with a scowl.
"Well if you MUST know i was being Elaine... Jane, Ruby and Diana are probably stressing out, they probably think I drowned so please row me to the waters edge"
Gilbert nodded and began to row.
"I guess this mean's I've saved you what... three times now?" Gilbert said with a kind smirk.
Anne rolled her eyes at his comment.
"Oh Anne!" Diana cried when she saw the wet red headed girl running over, wearing an oversized hoodie.
"Anne!" Jane and ruby exclaimed when they saw her too.
Soon Anne was engulfed in a hug with all three other girls, Gilbert stood to the side looking slightly uncomfortable.
"How on earth did you survive?" Jane asked once the hug was over,
"Well..." Anne said "i was holding onto the bridge pole when, he" Anne gestured to Gilbert "came rowing along and yeah"
Ruby turned to Gilbert, " how heroic" she swooned
"I better go..." Gilbert said "stay safe Anne, one day i might not be there to save you" he called over his shoulder.
"I didn't NEED you to 'save' me i was quite alright on my own!" she called after him even though he couldn't hear her.
"How romantic" Jane said "Gilbert saving Annes LIFE"
Anne's head snapped around, glaring. "It is the MOST unromantic this ever!" Anne said angrily "it is so UN-romantic its its... not even... a thing!" She huffed frustrated.
"I agree Anne" Ruby said solemnly, "it was heroic but not romantic"
"Exactly" Anne said
"So you admit you think it was heroic?" Diana said "did you just say that Gilbert was your Hero?"
Anne blushed "NO! I NEVER SAID THAT"
All the girls laughed at their soaked friend friend.
"UGH, just get me a towel!" Anne said grumpily while shivering in the cold winter air.
"Okay" Diana said through giggles while walking to her house, Anne folweed but the other girls stayed outside giggling together.
"so Anne..." Diana said "is that Gilbert's hoodie?"
"oh" Anne said blushing, "uh yeah I was cold"
"riiiight" DIana said "well, are you going to keep it?"
Anne choked, "uH wHat, um no." she said "why would i keep it?"
"oh i dont know.. because you love him?" Diana said wistfully
"I DO NOT LOVE HIM" Anne yelled, her face going even redder than before.
Diana chuckled and handed her a towel. once Anne was slightly dry she stormed off and walked home.
"Honestly Anne," Marilla said while rubbing her for head "it seemed that trouble just follows you wherever you go"
"Im sorry Marilla we didn't know it was going to sink!" Anne said with a towel draped across her back
"If you did then i'd be even more worried" Marilla responded
Anne yawned.
"Go to bed Anne, you look exhausted."
Anne nodded and walked up to her room, with every step her eyelids became more and more heavy.
Just as Anne was about to fall asleep her phone binged,
There was a text from a unsaved number, Anne frowned and clicked on it,
Unknown, hey you ok?
Anne replied...
Anne, sorry who is this?
Unknown, Oh! Sorry its me Gilbert
Anne, oh hi Gilbert yeah I'm fine :p
Anne, wait... how did you get my phone number?
Gilbert, I have my sources... -.-
Anne,it was Diana wasn't it
Gilbert, yeah..
Anne sighed, trying to ignore the fluttery feeling she was getting in her chest again.
Im just tired,
She convinced herself as she slowly drifted off to sleep.
Authors notes: hahahaha yeet, I loved this part in Anne of green gables and i'm so sad they didn't put it in Anne with an E but oh welll i will survviivvvvvvee.
