chapter one

I woke up lost and confused. Looking around all I saw was rock. The last thing I remember is acnologia attacking fairytail and holding hands with juvia and gajeel. Hearing a cough i snapped out of my thoughts to see juvia sit up. I crawled my way over to her leaning down as she whispered.
"love rival whats going on" she asked as i shook my head.
"no clue lets go find the others" i said she nodded We helped each other up balancing on each other as we Slowly moved only to stop when a hand shot up moving debris out of the way only to show gajeel we helped move the boulders as he stood looking angry and unfazed.
"you girls need medical attention" he pointed out.
"im good just a few scratches but yeah lucy you need some bandages" juvia said as I signed using some of my magic to heal the wounds. They gaped at me as I shook my head.
"I knew that celestial magic was difficult but this puts a whole new meaning." gajeel said as I thought about something.
"juvia you said I instead of juvia" I said as she blushed embarrassed.
"I was working on my speaking so that grey would like me" she said as I smiled.
"im going to tell you something my mom said when I was younger you ready" I asked as she nodded.
"you dont have to change who you are for no man. Change the way the man thinks of you" I told her as she thought about it nodding.
"juvia thinks your right. Juvia cooks and cleans and does everything she can its time for grey to earn my respect" juvia said as gajeel looked at me which made me confused.
"gajeel no I did not hide my magic I've been practicing on my own now I have a variety of things I can do. Healing, requip celestial forms, combat, and a few more" I said as he nodded.
We continued walking in silence finding all the guild members on the s-class present.
"ah juvia and gajeel there master everyone is accounted for" erza said as master looked straight at me.
"you never imcluded lucy" he said as she glanced confused.
"who" she asked before spotting me."oh lucy" she said as I gave her a light fake smile to cover up the hurt.
"OK now we must leave" gildarts said as he and cana walked towards a ship. We all crowded onto the ship.
Timeskip.
When we arrived back in magnolia I didnt want to be bothered with the guild so I went for a walk. I ended up at a local orphanage walking in I see tons of children playing.
"hi im the orphanage director kimmy would you like to adopt a child" she asked as I shook my head.
"im only 17" I informed her as she ticked.
"well how about joining our mentor group you take on the job of being a big sister to someone" she asked as i smiled.
"that would be nice as long as I get to choose my younger sibling." i said kimmy nodded she made me file an application as she explained the rules.
"first month they stay here then they move in with you. Requirements for a home are windows, electricty, water, food remains in house hold, ways to communicate with the orphanage. I need to know if you are a mage" she said as I nodded.
"part of the fairytail guild" I said as she looked at me.
"that old broken down guild wow" she said as I looked at her confused.
"um I just came back from the S-class trials what do you mean old and broken down" I asked.
"child that guild lost most of their members seven years ago and along with losing their members they lost their spunk their hip cool attitude now its just a waistland never bringing in any sort of money" she explained as I covered my mouth in shock.
"im sorry did you now know we can do this another day" she offered. I shook my head in decline.
"no i dont want to think of what they went through can I go see the children" I asked she nodded taking me to the girls dormemory.
She walked me to a lobby area.
"im not gonna attract any attention to you just interact with them and find the one you could relate to the most." kimmy explained as I nodded walking around I saw children in different areas laughing and playing. I looked around to see a tiny girl no older than seven walk to a group of girls who ran from her she shivered in shame before going back to a corner. She had dirty blonde hair and wore oversized clothing. She had blue eyes and a tiny body. i heard some other girls laughing.
"whats wrong with the little girl" I asked as kimmy looked at her.
"her mother abandoned her here for protection because her father was abusive" she said as I nodded.
"does she know he was abusive" I asked as kimmy nodded.
"look at her left hand when you get the chance she is a really sweet and smart girl her magic capability is amazing" kimmy explained as I nodded walking over to the girl sitting next to her.
"hi im lucy heartfilia my mom died when I was seven and my dads switch turned off and he was very rude i got slapped for wanting to spend my birthday with him ya know" I started as she looked up.
"I always wanted a little sister who I could protect from him protect in general thats why I became a mentor if only I had a little sister from this orphanage who was belittled treated as a nobody never given the time of day. That way I could spoil her. Have someone to talk to and just enjoy each others company." I said as if I were thinking out loud.
"I dont know you probably would not want someone like me I've been abandoned my whole life" she said sadly I picked her up placing her on my lap.
"let me properly introduce myself. Im lucy heartfilia celestial mage of fairytail when I was born my mother tried to give me the world. My dad after she passed on went into a depression stage where he only cared about work and money. When I was ten on my birthday he slapped me because I wanted to spend time with him. When I was 16 I ran away from home and ran into this dangerous man but a friend of mine broke the spell and together we defeated that man. Later I joined fairytail and went on all types of adventures but for seven years we were asleep on an islamd frozen in time then we woke up today and ever sonce I felt this strange type of abandonment I want you to become my lil sister so will you" I asked as she nodded.
"chloe" she whispered as I looked at her confused.
"my name is chloe" she said as I smiled nodding.
"I like it" I agreed standing up letting her down. We walked over to kimmy who was smiling.
"would you guys like to hang out today" she asked I looked at chloe who eyes shined with hope but she never asked.
"yes we would what time do I have to get her back here" I asked as she looked at the clock.
"8 o'clock" she decided as I nodded six hours
Grabbing chloe we thanked kimmy walking out.
"are you ok with going to fairytail" I asked her as she nodded. I had to see the guild for myself. Arriving shortly I see the guild was indeed broken down but still lively.
Walking in only for natsu to walk right past me without even a hello.
Juvia came up to me.
"master just announced that natsu grey erza lisanna wendy and elfman are going to be in the grand magic games" she explained.
"whats the grand magic games" I asked.
"a competition between guilds to see who is the top guild in fiore over the years we sank to the bottom thatd why master is so determined to win" juvia explained as I nodded realizing I was not on that team.
"gajeel, laxus, mira, juvia and lucy my office now" master bellowed as I widened my eyes.
"what did we do" I asked juvia who shrugged.
"chloe you can go play with the other kids or go to the bar" I said as she nodded walking away. Me and juvia climbed the stairs going to masters office. When we arrived everyone else was already there.
"lucy who was that little brat" master asked.
"my little sister" I said as everyone looked at me.
"oh I meant like mentor type she's from the orphanage im gonna be like her go to figure when she needs something" I explained as he nodded slowly.
"well you guys will also be in the grand magic games as team B" master said as I gave him a confused look.
"why do we have 5 members while they have 6" I asked.
"elfman is a reserve blondie cana is our reserve but she left" laxus said as I nodded. Wait didnt he get exiled did they let him back into the guild.
"welcome back to the guild I think are you back?" I asked as gajeel nodded.
"oh I should probably mention which ever team comes out in first place can make the other team do what ever they want for a day. Keep team B a secret. Now get out brats you've got six months to train." master said as we all filed out.
"we should start training now" mira said as I signed.
"I have chloe til 8  so I cant" I sajd as gajeel looked at her.
"she is a mage" he guessed as I nodded.
"then bring her and start her training not a second could be waisted" he said as I signed walking over to her and a little girl who looked like bisca with alzacks hair color.
"chloe ny friends would like to train do you want me to start your training" I asked her as she nodded immediately.
"well come on" I said leaning down as she climbed onto my back. I walked over to the others as we exited the guild heading in a random direction.
"hi chloe im mirajane but everyone calls me mira mind telling me your magic" mira asked as chloe looked down.
"I don't know what its called but everytime I try to use it I get yelled at" she said as I looked at her in shock. We walked into the lonly part of the forest and I let chloe down.
"show me what you can do we'll start from there" I said she nodded closing her syes concentrating hard as a light appeared in her hand she threw it at a tres as the tree froze. Laxus stopped stretching looking at the tree.
"your an ice mage" he asked confused. Chloe closed her eyes as a ball appear she threw it at the same tree this time allowing it to melt.
"I don't know I can bend the light to form any element weird right" she asked as gajeel nodded.
"at least I know how to help you." I said smirking as mira and juvia glanced over.
"come sit down." I sat she did and sat indian style on the grass.
"close your eyes. Go to your happy place and find that flame when you do nod your head." I instructed she nodded a few minutes later.
"now that flame is your magic push all of thatagic out and around you for as long as possible" I said as her magic started seeping out.
Its was around seven thirty when we finished training after the day of hard work I felt stronger if only by a little bit.
Hi guys this story is an idea i have been thinking about for the longest i plan to make this a very long book first the grand magic games then i want to find a love interest for lucy.
