Down The Block (EddMatt)

I made a promise

                          A couple of weeks passed and it was now around Thanksgiving. Edd arrived and school and ended up getting a lot homework. At lunch they were all talking about their weekend plans. They all sat around a table in the library. Matt had signed out a couple of books, while the others just came there to eat and hangout. The conversation started to be focused on what Edd was gonna do over the weekend.

             "What about you Edd?" Tom smiled. "What are your plans?"

             "I think all I can do is get this homework done..." Edd mumbled lifting his backpack full of textbooks and binders.

             "Um...Y'know if it helps," Matt flipped through the pages Edd had to do, "I did all of this yesterday and you could come over after school. Y'know and I could help?" Matt smiled.

              "Oh! Well. Sure, thank you!" Edd smiled.

              "Tord, maybe you and I could do something later?" Tom looked at the slightly taller boy.  Tord simply nodded blushing a bit. Tord didn't speak too much and to Edd it came off as him being shy, but he wasn't sure. Edd thought he would ask Matt later. As soon as that thought flew through Edd's head the end of lunch bell rang. 

              " Oh!" Matt frowned a little bit wanting to keep talking, "I'll see you guys later okay?"

              "In case I don't run into any of you two later," Tom smiled looking at Edd and Matt, "have a good weekend!" 

              "Thanks Tom! Same to you!!" Edd smiled.

              "Bye guys," Tord smiled finally saying something, "See you after school Tom."

    They all separated and went to get their stuff, and go to their classes. Edd wouldn't be able to tell anybody what the teachers had taught the class, the thought of being able to spend time with Matt alone after school made his heat flutter. He blushed to the thought of him and Matt sitting side by side, simply talking. It was then when Edd remembered the entire reason Edd met Matt, Tom, and Tord. He met him to make his life miserable.. Eduardo had been begging information out of Edd the past few days and if Edd wouldn't tell him something he would hurt him, Edd had bruises all over his arms. He never took off his hoodie now, even in gym class. Edd nearly fell out of his chair from excitement when the end of school bell rang. This caused a few people to laugh but Edd couldn't care less. All he wanted was to see Matt, and try to forget what had been going on with Eduardo. On Edd's way down the hall he actually spotted Eduardo. He wanted to let him know he was gonna go home with Matt, not wanting to talk to him on the walk to their houses. But as Edd was about to walk up to him he noticed what Eduardo was doing. He was talking to another boy who was much shorter than him. The boy wore a blue sweater and had a grey beanie hat on. His hair was a dirty blond color, and he had quite a few freckles that spread across his face. The boy looked honestly terrified and looked like he was trying to end whatever conversation they were talking about. The boy also appeared to be trying to take back a small sheet of paper Eduardo had taken from him. It was at the moment that Eduardo shoved the boy to the ground and purposefully stomped on his hand. He hit him a few times more before he walked off laughing. Edd immediately ran over to see if the boy was okay. Held down his hand and the boy took it as Edd helped him up. 

          "I am so sorry about my cousin, are you okay?!" Edd looked at him worried. Edd realized that this boy seemed almost Tom's height, maybe even shorter. He wondered if that's what Eduardo was laughing at? It would be a dumb reason but maybe. 

         "I'm fine.." The boy mumbled wipeing the tears from his face with his sleeve. "Eduardo's your cousin?" The boy looked at him.

         "Yeah, I'm Edd. I live with him and my aunt and uncle so, lucky me..." Edd rolled his eyes sarcastically.  This made the shorter boy giggle a bit.
