Letter To Daisy #2

Daisy was super excited. Holidays were just around the corner and she could hardly wait. No more having to put up with teachers, no more having to study for upcoming tests, no more homework and, the best part of it all, no more P. E!

It wasn't that Daisy hated P. E. Okay, that was a lie, she did.

Daisy was also stoked because Izzy was coming back for the holidays! Sure, she saw Izzy already at Christmas break but that was so far ago. And they didn't get to spend a lot of time together. Not only because of the fact that it was Christmas, actually, Izzy's parents invited Daisy and her family over the day before Christmas for lunch.

But her parents ended up declining the invite, using some excuse about how her Aunt Marge was visiting. Which was true, Daisy's Aunt Marge did come. And it was one of the worst weeks for Harry.

Even though Aunt Marge didn't say anything to him, she still would look at him weirdly and praised her parents  (loudly by that) about how generous they were to be taking Harry into their home. Sometimes she would go the extent to say rude things about Harry's parents.

Daisy knew that her mom and dad didn't like her aunt and uncle but... Her aunt was her mom's sister. Surely, she would stand up for her. But, no. Her parents were disappointing her expectations more and more.

On the second last day of school, Daisy practically skipped all the way to her room when she came home from school. Only once she was in the room did she remember that Izzy might have written  her a letter. She dropped her bag on the floor and went to the post box and saw, yes, indeed there was a letter waiting there for her.

She picked up the neatly folded letter. The letter reminded Daisy of how Izzy was such a perfectionist at times.

"Harry, come on bub," she cooed to him when she opened his closet door. He looked sleepily around, yawning and rubbing his eyes with his tiny fists. His hair was a mop of black messy hair, his fringe not in his eyes and you could clearly see his scar. A lightning bolt shaped scar that Daisy never knew how it got there. Her parents told her it was from the car crash that also killed Uncle James and Aunt Lilly, but, something just never felt right about that story.

When his green eyes connected with her brown ones, he was suddenly awake and crawled his way into her outstretched arms.

Daisy carefully picked him up and carried him upstairs with her. When she got into her room (after struggling a LOT to open the door) she placed him on her bed where he immediately began grabbing onto her hair. She let out a laugh when one of his attempts were a success and she was now leaning halfway up and down with Harry's small hands pulling on her hair.

"Ow. Hazza, leggo," she half laughed at him. When he didn't budge, she tickled his side with the hand not holding the letter. He let out a laugh before flopping onto his side. Daisy rolled her eyes and grabbed a toy out of her cupboard to keep him busy as she read the letter.

She grabbed one of his favourite teddy bears. A deer teddy bear that Daisy found lying in Dudley's room. She figured he wouldn't mind since he hardly even played with that toy. Daisy couldn't remember for the life of her where he even got that toy in the first place! Daisy just overlooked that since Dudley had a LOT of toys and it was easy to forget which toy came from who.

She held it out for Harry, with a playful smirk on her face, and Harry made a grab for the toy. In the last second, Daisy pulled the toy out of his reach. Then she held it out again for him, but again she pulled the toy away. This went on for a few minutes before Harry squealed, "Ta!" and held his hand out expectingly.

Daisy laughed at him and gave him the toy. When he finally got a hold of the toy, he held it to his chest tight and buried his face into the toy. Daisy ruffled his head before climbing on her bed. She pulled the letter out again and began to open it, first making sure that Harry wasn't too near the edge.

She made that mistake once (Daisy remembers that day. Izzy had came over and when Daisy wasn't looking, Harry managed to almost roll himself all the way of the bed. Izzy had ran over to catch him. How she did that from the other side of the room, Daisy didn't know) and was not wanting a repeat of events.

When she opened the folded letter, she immediately recognized Izzy's neat handwriting along with other blobs of ink that dotted along the letter. Daisy heard from Izzy about how she had to use a quill and ink pot at her new school. Daisy was confused on what school Izzy even went to. It sounded like a very strange school if it still used quills.

She read that letter as Harry played with his toy, talking along in baby language.

Dear Daisy Flower

Yes, I still remember the nickname I gave you when we first met, and I plan on using it way more now!

I am so excited for the holidays coming up and cannot wait to see you again! It feels like so long since we actually spoke, those Christmas holidays were so short. Anyway,

I can't wait to tell you all about the pranks my friends and I pulled this year. Especially of the specific one that my friend, Tonks, pulled on the 'Science' teacher. You remember her, right?

Daisy looked up from reading. She didn't actually. Since Daisy and Izzy's time was so short together, Izzy had spoke so fast that Daisy didn't catch anything. And also why was science teacher in quotation marks?

She's the one who is really good at impressions.

'Oh,' Daisy suddenly remembered about Izzy telling her about this Tonks girl.

Anyway, she is really funny and we had done so many pranks that I can't wait to tell you!

Oh, and I forgot to ask you but... what is Harry's surname?
