Daisy was sitting at her table, alone, like always she was reading a book that she got from the library. It was a fantasy book about a princess being saved by a prince.

Daisy sighed irritably while she read the story. Why couldn't the princess save the prince for once? That would make the story more interesting. It had always been the prince saving the princess, but Daisy longed for something more.

Daisy was sitting outside at the table near the entrance of the school. Nobody wanted to sit there, as that was where all the teachers flocked together and gossiped.

She was wearing a gray dress, black stockings and black shoes. The uniform for all the girls. She was also wearing a black watch, which her father gave her as a surprise.

She looked at the watch, which read: 10:15.

'Great,' She thought, 'just ten more minutes of recess. Then we can go back inside.'

She put her book down and looked around the playground. On the field was a group of boys running around and kicking a soccer ball. Daisy loved playing soccer and was going to join the soccer team next year.

On the left of her was where all the playground equipment were. Girls and boys were running around, chasing each other. And some were going down the slides and swinging on the swing set. In another group, of both boys and girls alike, they were all crowded around something.

Curious, Daisy stretched her neck trying to get a glimpse of what was so fascinating.

Then she saw what it was.

Or more likely who it was. Isabella.

She was always so popular and nice. Everyone wanted to be her friend.

Daisy sighed, 'She would never wanna be friends with me.' Feeling defeated she grabbed her book and got up from her seat. But what Daisy didn't see was that certain someone staring at her as she made her way to the library.

When Daisy entered the library, after greeting the librarian and returning her book, she began hunting for a new book to read. That was all the she was looking for. But she ended up leaving with something else too.

As Daisy ran her finger over the rows of dusty books, she soon found herself face-to-face with Isabella.

She stopped abruptly and her eyes widened.

"Oh, hello!" Isabella exclaimed cheerfully. Her brown hair bounced as she rocked back and forward on her heels.

"Uh... Hi?" Daisy said, ending it more like a question.

They were both facing each other, but Daisy seemed more interested in the floor than Isabella.

"You're name's Daisy, right?" Isabella asked, tilting her head to the side, making a few strands of hair fall in front of her face.

Daisy nodded and kept on looking through the rows of books on the shelves. As Daisy moved forward, Isabella kept walking backwards.

"You like reading?" Isabella asked, as she picked a book off of the shelf.

Daisy nodded, still wondering why on Earth Isabella would want to speak to her.

"Me too!" Isabella exclaimed. "My favourite book is The Chronicles Of Narnia. Have you read it?"

Days widened her eyes and she struggled to form a sentence, "Yeah, tha-that is one of my favourite books."

"Really? Mine too!" Isabella said excitedly, a shine in her Hazel eyes. But then her face grew red and she looked down a bit emberresed by her outburst. She looks down sheepishly before bouncing back to her normal preppy self.

"My name's Isabella," She says, sticking her hand out.

Daisy hesitantly takes her hand and shakes it. After that, they spend the rest of the break talking and getting to know each other.

Isabella also suggests for Daisy to sit next to her tomorrow at break.

The Next Day

"Bye mom. Love you," Daisy says as she gets out of the car. She sighs, fidget with the straps of her backpack and trudge up the stairs of the school.

She was only half way up the steps, when suddenly someone pushed her and she fell down, hard. She looked up and barely manged to see the people beind it. A bunch of girls, giggling and gossiping past her.

Daisy sighs and looks back down from her position on the ground. As she was getting up, a hand suddenly appeared out of nowhere to help her. No one usually liked to speak to her, mainly cause she was the youngest, smartest and 'cause she was very quiet. So, she was really surprised.

She looks up, and can't help smiling. There, standing in front of her was Isabella.

"Hey, need some help there?"

Daisy grins and takes her hand to get up. "Thanks," she says, while rubbing the back of her neck.

Isabella smiles, "No problem, Daisy Flower." Daisy can't help but snorting at the new nickname. Which leads to the both of them bursting out laughing.

As the bell rings, Isabella grabs Daisy's hand and pulls her inside the building. Many people look over, very confused, and Daisy felt herself heat up a bit but Isabella stayed her usual self. She pulled Daisy until she and Daisy were walking along side each other.

Isabella waved to the people on her way to class and Daisy couldn't help but smile whenever Isabella turned around to ask a question before spinning back around and continuing to blabble her way to class. Daisy didn't mind listening and sharing her input at times. This was why Daisy and Isabella worked so well, they just completed each other.

Daisy liked listening to people and Isabella always listened to Daisy in return, unlike some people who just used her. Isabella may have been popular, but her and Daisy were simply joined to the hip.

Isabella was good for Daisy, she introduced her to different people and new friends. And soon people started being nicer to her and she wasn't alone at break anymore. But she didn't change. Which Isabella was hoping she wouldn't. She didn't want Daisy to change just for other people to like her. She should just stay her regular self and people will like her for who she was.

And Daisy was always there for Isabella. Isabella was popular, but people tended to not stick around too long. She was glad to have something permanent. Or so she hopes.
