Daisy knew something was wrong the minute she walked into school. Isabella Garcia was one of the most hyper active kids there ever was. Where as Daisy sucks at sports, Isabella could do almost all of them flawlessly. She always wore a smile on her face, although it was sometimes a devious one, and she was always living in the present.
"The present is a gift," she would say to Daisy. "You only get one chance. You get older each day! We need to use all the opportunities we can get! Think of it like this: you never know what might have happened if you did it.
"Yesterday is history. Tomorrow is a mystery. Today is a gift. That is why it is called the present."
If you had to ask anyone that knew Izzy, they all would say that Izzy's spirit animal would be something energetic, always moving and smiling!
So, when Daisy saw her best friend sulking on the steps of the school- she was worried. Daisy is now nine and three quarter years old and Isabella had just turned eleven years old, last week. The 16th of February. Izzy's parents allowed her to have a birthday party, which Daisy attended. It was fun and only had the small group of Izzy and Daisy's friends.
"Hey, Izzy," Daisy said and took a seat next to her friend on the granite steps leading to the entrance to the school.
Izzy sent a sad smile to Daisy, which was followed by a heavy sigh.
"What's wrong?" Daisy asked and scooted closer to Izzy.
Izzy refused to make eye contact with Daisy and stared at the ground as she spoke, "So... It's a long story... And I can't really explain it all to you."
'Okay, ouch.'
Daisy and Isabella told everything to each other. There wasn't a thing that was kept in between them. They knew each other so well, that if one of them told a story the other one could finish it.
Isabella took another deep sigh, "I... may or may not be..." She struggled on saying the next few words.
Daisy tried to help her out, "Just let it out. The faster you do it, the less hard it will be. Like when you pull a bandage of-"
"I am moving to a new school."

The summer, after their fourth year at primary school, was filled with visiting each other whenever they could and eating more ice cream than was healthy.
Isabella would be going to a new school at the start of September. The first time she and Daisy would not be sitting next to each other in class. She was going to be the new girl again- which Daisy was very worried about, but Isabella assured her that there would be a lot of new children her age going there. Another thing Daisy found strange.
Isabella didn't let out a lot of information about her new school, besides the fact that is was going to be very far away and that she was going to miss Daisy tremendously.
In the summer they tried to spend as much time as they could with each other. Along with a few other friends. Veronica Isaac and Connor Matthews. The four of them spent the whole holiday with each other- going to the beach, eating ice-cream, playing soccer and going to the park with Harry (who Daisy sneaked out for a bit of fresh air).
Veronica and Connor were two close friends of Daisy and Isabella. They all formed their circle of friends earlier that year, and have stuck to each other ever since.
The day before the start of the new school year, they spent the whole day outside. They went to a nearby park to play some soccer and buy ice-cream. Afterwards, Daisy went back home to get Harry and then brought him with all of them to sit outside.
They sat out on a nearby soccer field. The grass swayed gently as a small breeze brushed past. They sat down on the grass, Harry sitting in Daisy's lap, talking and laughing.
"Remember the first time we met?" Connor asks, he lays down on the grass with his hands behind his head.
All of them laugh at the memory of when the group was formed.
"Yeah," Isabella says with a smile on her face. "It all happened because of Daisy's clumsiness," she says making everyone laugh again.
Daisy's face tinted pink and she nudged Isabella with her arm, "Best clumsy mistake I had ever made."
"True," Veronica says, picking out flowers from the ground. "It was, and still is, pretty funny though. Just think, who knew that one clumsy person and two detentions later, a group of strangers could become friends."
"I said I was sorry!"
"I still have the pink stain on my soccer shirt!"
Daisy rolled her eyes at Connor and teasingly pulled his baseball cap over his eyes. Everyone giggled all over again, even Harry who had new clue of what they were going on about.
When all the laughter died down, Isabella sighed and said, "I am really going to miss you guys at school."
Everyone smiled sadly at each other.
"Veronica, don't you dare cry 'cause that's gonna make me cry," Isabella threatened as she sat up and scooted closer to everyone.
"Which will make me cry," Daisy muttered, already wiping her face with the sleeve of her shirt.
"Which is going to make me cry even harder," Veronica says.
The three of them look at Connor, who was already wiping his eyes and he pulled his cap more over his eyes, "Don't even start with me."
And as if that was all that was needed to be said, they all jumped on top of Isabella and hugged her tight. Even Harry, who accidentally managed to pull on Veronica's hair.
