Birds chirp softly in the distance as my eyes flutter open. I see a wide blue sky above me. I blink into the light. Where am I? Carefully, I sit up and see that I am in a clearing in the forest. A smile comes to my lips at its beauty.
"Hello Thranduil." A female voice says breaking the peace. I jump and stand up, my robes getting tangled around my legs.
"D-Deryth?" I stutter, mesmerized by her gorgeous face. She smiles. "What are y-you doing here?"
She walks towards me in a few smooth steps. She pushes some of her long blonde hair away from her face. My heart skips a beat.
"Does it matter?" She asks in a low tone as she puts a hand on my chest. Heat jolts through my body at her touch.
"Not really." I say with a husky tone I have never used before. She grabs my chin and tilts my head down so I can stare into her bright blue eyes. Then my eyes drop lower to her perfect rose lips. She wraps her hands around my neck and I lean down...
"Thranduil?" A voice asks. My head throbs in agony at the sound. I groan.
"I think he's waking up." Another voice says. My eyes fly open and I am practically blinded by light.
"Ugh!" I grunt.
"Yep, he's definitely awake."
I open my eyes once more and allow them to adjust to the brightness of the unfamiliar room. Where did the forest go? And Deryth? But then my gaze lands on the three elves surrounding me. Ninthalor, Galather, and Deryth. I feel heat rise to my cheek and my heartbeat quicken. I attempt to sit up, but my body protests.
Ninthalor puts his hand on my shoulder.
"Don't fight it, Thranduil." He advises.
"What happened?" I ask.
"You passed out when you where walking down the hall and Deryth took you to her quarters because she was the only one around." Galather explains. My eyebrows raise in shock. I look around and realize that I am in a bed. Deryth's bed.
I look at Deryth's face which looks somewhat flushed. Then my eyes fall to her lips and I remember my dream....
"Then I got Ninthalor and we all came to take care of you." Galather continues. "And you started moaning about Deryth in your sleep and then you woke up."
Oh goodness.
