The giant arachnids click viciously and surround Deryth and I in the largest numbers of spiders I have ever seen. My body is so tense and I have to use every ounce of will power not to say or do anything. Any hint of movement could be my last. Or Deryth's.
I close my eyes breathe softly through my nostrils. This is the end, Thranduil. Embrace it. An aching pain grows in my chest. The hurtful emotions that have been inside of me. Some positive, some negative. Even so, questions linger in my mind. Who will take the throne? What will happen to my kingdom?
I feel a hairy leg brush against me. Please, let it be quick and painful, I think.
All of a sudden, the large monsters start screaming. My eyes open and I see an elf attacking the spiders. Galather. Several arrows fly out of his long bow in a matter of seconds. The majority of them hit their target, killing the giants on the spot. My friend's long brown hair swirls around his face as he draws his twin swords. He slashes this way and that, disarming the spiders-- literally. He vaults over carcasses and kills some more.
"Deryth!" He exclaims as he takes one of his blades and sliced open Deryth's cobweb cocoon. She shrugged herself out of it and to my horror she kisses him on the check. But then she quickly draws her weapons and starts fighting herself.
Having enough of the show, I grunt loudly, drawing attention to myself. Galather and Deryth both look at me. Deryth takes a step forward, but Galather extends his arms, blocking her way. My want to yell at them was so powerful. So strong. So angry. How could Galather do this? As soon as the thoughts enter my mind, a spider jumps in front of them, nearly on top of the two elves.
Another giant skitters towards me. It bites around the cobwebs restraining me and starts to carry me away. I struggle, but it is no use. I am a goner.
