Chapter 31

Garmadon walked into the kitchen of the apartment, the dustpan full of broken glass. Lloyd sat at the table eating a bowl of cereal and Misako drank a cup of tea. "So, a rock broke the window, and some glass hit Lloyd in the shoulder?" Misako questioned

"That's what happened Mom."

"Are you okay?"

"Yeah I'm fine."

Garmadon dumped the glass into a trash bag and shoved the bag into the trash can. "I'll fix the window later." He mumbled

Lloyd pushed his half-eaten bowl of cereal across the table, and almost fell asleep. "I'm tired."

"Go get ready for school." Misako smiled

"Yeah yeah I'm going." Lloyd replied as he stood and walked towards his room

"Be careful, I don't know if I missed any of the glass." Garmadon called

"Got it!" Lloyd called back "OW!"

"What!? Did you step on glass!?"

"No, I stubbed my toe!!!" Lloyd exclaimed from down the hall "I'm okay!" A few minutes later Lloyd walked into the kitchen, his hair half brushed

"Lloyd, you missed half your hair." Misako smiled as she grabbed a comb off the counter and combed the rest of Lloyd's hair

"Thanks Mom." Lloyd yawned as Misako combed the knots out of his hair

"Lloyd, how did you get candy in your hair?" Misako asked as she pulled a Warhead out of Lloyd's hair

Lloyd looked tiredly at the Warhead ".... No clue."

"Did you sleep at all last night?"

Lloyd had fallen asleep standing up. "I think that's a no." Garmadon said as he caught Lloyd, who was falling forward

Lloyd walked tiredly through the halls of Ninjago High. It was his first day back since The Battle. Sadly, he got swarmed in the hallways, begged for autographs in classrooms, and surrounded in the lunchroom. He hardly talked at all during the day though. He silently walked through the crowds, signed autographs, and ignored questions as he tried to eat. Eventually, the end of the day came, and he reached his locker. He opened his locker, and out fell a note. He picked it up and read it. 'Be at the docks by 10 tonight, or Chen will have to hunt you down.' Lloyd mentally freaked out, but didn't show it on his face. He simply shoved the note in his pocket, and texted his dad, to see if he was on his way or not. 'Dad, you almost here?'

'Caught up in traffic, I'll be there in a few minutes.'

'I can always walk.'

'You are still on house arrest, no walking. Wait for me to pick you up.'

'Fine, but if I'm asleep on a bench by the time you get here, not my fault.'

'I am two blocks away, just sit on a bench and wait.'

'Yeah, whatever.'

Lloyd pulled his hood up and plugged in his earbuds, he put one in his ear, and let the other earbud hang on the wire. "I find it hilarious, how the son of someone who was so evil, has a name that means Grey." A voice said from behind Lloyd. He turned, there stood a red-headed girl, just about his age. "Hey, I'm Skylor." She said

"What do you mean my name means Grey?" Lloyd asked

"Well your name is connected to the Welsh-English-Irish word llwyd, which means Grey."

"But why's it funny?"

"Grey is the exact halfway point between Black and White, or, Good and Evil."

"What's your point?"

"I just think it's funny that you're the son of someone who was evil, but is now good, and your name means Grey."

"You're weird."

"Eh, I get that a lot. Though not as much as guys flirting with me. Like your friend Kai, he is terrible, at flirting."

Lloyd laughed as his dad pulled up "Bye." Lloyd smiled, for the first time that day, he smiled

Lloyd climbed into his dad's car "Lloyd."

"Yeah?"

"You have a Warhead, in your hair." Garmadon laughed as he pulled a Warhead out of Lloyd's hair

"Why does that keep happening?"

"No clue Son. No clue."
