Suga flinched as his manager slammed his hand on the desk. He was seated in the small room beside Namjoon and Ji, the three of them called in to discuss their current projects.

"I don't understand how you consistently present me with garbage, Ji," the manager huffed, pinching the bridge of his nose. "And then when you have an actually good track, you run off to another company."

Ji shifted in his seat. He had already come clean about giving one of his songs to a competitor and was lucky enough to receive one more chance. Unfortunately, because he had spent all of his time on that track, he had to rush another one. As a result, it wasn't even close to something the company was looking for.

"And you two, this track is good, but I know you're capable of better. I want you to rewrite these lyrics and change the bridge completely."

"Yes, sir," Suga and Namjoon mumbled at the same time. They had been put together on projects lately and though they had similar tastes, it was harder working with two people rather than composing something alone.

"Get out of my office and start working. We aren't getting anywhere at this rate," the manager said, handing Namjoon their work. The three boys got to their feet to leave, but the manager held onto Ji's work still. "Ji, I want to speak to you alone briefly."

Ji's hands shook, but he sat back down in his seat. Suga gave him small look of encouragement before leaving the room with Namjoon.

The door wasn't even fully closed before the yelling started again. Suga sighed, following Namjoon back to the studio to start reworking the song.

"Think he'll be okay?" Namjoon asked, glancing back at Suga.

"I hope so. He's been getting very discouraged lately."

"Haven't we all," Namjoon muttered. "But we have to stay focused, Suga. We're getting closer, I can feel it. I overheard the manager saying he wanted a group to debut next year. We could be part of that group if we work hard enough."

Suga felt hope spark through at those words, but his heart was still a little heavy. "What about Ji?"

Namjoon ran a hand through his hair and they both stopped walking. "He's good, Suga, but I don't think he's cut out for this. He gets too distracted with failures. Management doesn't like it. So we have to push ourselves. Focus on ourselves."

Suga felt like he was betraying his closest friend just with this conversation, but he wanted to succeed more than anything. He wanted to achieve his dreams.

"We can do this together, Suga. I know it," Namjoon said.

Suga nodded. "Alright, then let's get back to work," Suga said back, pushing away the thoughts of the other boy down the hall.

Suga: You okay?

Ji: I'm fine. Why?

Suga: haven't seen you in a couple days. What happened with management?

Ji: bitched me out, basically need to make it or break it right now.

Suga: so why haven't you been here? I can help you out, you know.

Ji: Needed to clear my head and find some motivation again. I'll be in tomorrow.

Suga: alright well I'm still here if you need me.

Ji: thanks.
