10:00 am (the next day) Nicole's POV
I sat on the couch to watch the Vampire Diaries and I got a text from Danielle.
Dani💖: heyyy how are u feeling?
Me: hey I'm good, wbu
Dani💖: well I just got off of the phone with Chase and he said that Jason has a girlfriend. I thought that you should know...
As soon as a I read that text, I froze. I dropped my phone and it fell on the floor. I walked upstairs and started to tear up. *How could this happen? He loves me, right? Or he did...*
11:00 am
I was sitting on my bed, crying and listening to my playlist of Shawn Mendes music.
I heard the front door open and then a couple of fast foot steps coming up the stairs and going towards my room *knock knock*.
Danielle peered through the door frame.
She walked in and sat beside me on my bed "I'm sorry. I shouldn't have told you." She grabbed some Kleenex and handed it to me "I hope that Chase just thinks that he does and Jason doesn't actually have a girlfriend.....if he does, then move on or talk to your parents about the restraining order."
She grabbed her phone and went on Tik tok.
*5 mins later* I peered over her shoulder and saw Jason lip syncing to a funny sound and I got so upset. "Can you turn that off please?" I said. Dani looked up and saw that tears were forming again "Yeah, sure."
"Hey Danielle...." I had an idea, "can you call Jason again?" She looked at me with a concerned face "Are you sure?" I smiled "Yeah....now can you dial it?" I waited for her to get the phone ringing. She handed it to me and I placed the phone near my ear.
"Hello? Danielle, I swear if this is another prank I'm gonna get annoyed" Jason said.
"J-jason...it's me, Nicole." I started getting nervous.
"Oh uh, I gotta go..." He said
"No, wait. Hear me out. I didn't know about the restraining order.....I tried to contact you, but your number was blocked from my phone so I didn't know. I haven't stopped thinking about you, Jason I want you back. I want you with me right now. I want to be in your arms." I said
"I'm sorry, but I have a girlfriend. I don't love you anymore." He hung up the phone.
My heart was crushed. I started breathing really heavily and I couldn't move. Jason Waud said that he doesn't love me anymore. I started to cry, again. I spent the rest of the day with Danielle, eating ice cream and watching Netflix. *How could he do that to me?*
11:00 pm
Danielle has left after dinner and I was laying in my bed, playing on my phone. I was reading a fanfic about Shawn Mendes when I got a call from Joe.
"Hello?" I answered the phone.
"Hey, Nicole." He said.
"Is it really you? Joe?" I smiled.
"Yeah, the one and only" he laughed
"I've missed talking to you so much." I said.
"How are you doing? I heard Jason on the phone with you...." He trailed off.
"I tried talking to him, but he has a girlfriend.". I frowned
"It's okay...you'll find someone new. I bet there's plenty of guys that are falling for you but you don't know it." He said.
"Let's face time....I miss seeing your face." I giggled.
*Video call started*
"Awe I missed you" I smiled "come back to Canada so I can hug you!"
He laughed "Look, I've been trying but ever since your parents put the restraining order on Jason and I....." He scratched his head "it's been really hard not being able to see you...for both of us. I'm not so sure that Jason will come around anytime soon, but I'm here for you." He smiled.
My face got really red "Thank you Joe. Do you know when they'll take the restraining order off?"
"The judge said that it'll be in 2 weeks and then Jason and I can contact you again." He said.
"I'll wait." I bit my lip "I'll wait for both of you, if not I'll wait for you Joe. You're one of my best friends and I love you so much."
"Yeah, I love you too Nicole."
"How can I get over Jason now?" I said.
Joe got up from the chair that he was sitting on and proceeded to go to his bedroom. I heard Jason singing on a live again "So don't be a fool....and wait on me darling. You'll find a man who will sit by your side and will be there for you." Jason sang.
I got really sad and realized that Joe had just shut his door closed. "You okay?" He said concerned.
"Y-yeah...I'm fine." I fiddled with my sweatshirt.
"Well, don't be a fool and hold on to Jason...he's not worth it. I know that he's my brother and stuff, but he's a jerk sometimes."
"Oh okay....I guess I'll try to get over him. Anyways, I have to go....bye Joe!" I said.
"Buh-bye, Nicole." He laughed.
*Video chat ended*
I layed on my bed and decided to go to sleep cause it was now 12:00 am.
***3 WEEKS LATER***
8:00 pm
Joe was coming to Canada to see Danielle and I with Chase. I got over Jason and it was with Joe's help...we were best friends and we grew even closer.
Danielle and I arrived at the airport and my mom went to the parking lot to wait for us to come back with the boys.
We headed to the waiting area and held up big signs saying "welcome back!", with big red hearts all over them.
We waited for about 10 minutes and I saw Joe coming out from the luggage area. "JOE!!" I screamed and dropped the sign. I started to run towards him and he put his bags down to embrace me. I jumped up and landed in his arms. "I missed you!" I squealed.
Chase then came and Danielle ran up to him for a hug. They started making out and stuff. I was happy for Dani, she finally met someone that she loves.
All four of us walked to the parking lot, got into my mom's car and she drove us back to my place.
I wondered why she was being so nice, since my dad and her were the ones that put the restraining order on them.
10:00 pm
"Okay kids, don't stay up too late and NOOOOO funny business, okay?" My mom said "all of you guys will be sleeping in the basement by the way."
"Okay thanks Mom." I said as all of us headed downstairs.
I saw that there was only two queen sized air mattresses for all of us. "Um guys...we only have two beds. I'll sleep on the floor, Joe can have a bed and Danielle and Chase can share one."
"No, it's okay I'll sleep on the floor" Joe said. "No, you're the guest and you've had a long flight." I insisted. "Okay, fine....but feel free to sleep on the bed with me if you want to." He headed to the bathroom.
12:00 am
After all of the fun that we've had and the games that we've all played, we decided to go to bed. Danielle and Chase cuddled close to each other, so Joe and I just played on our phones. I fell asleep, but I woke up because the floor was so uncomfortable. I checked my phone to see the time and it was 2:34 am.
I tried to fall back asleep, but I couldn't. I just kept tossing and turning until I heard a whisper. Joe sat up "Nic, do you want to sleep here?" "Yeah, can I?" I said. "Of course." Joe signaled at me to come and lay beside him. I grabbed my pillow and crawled over to the air mattress. I got under the sheets and fell asleep, next to Joe Waud.
