Sebastian walked into the club, which my now had all their groovy lights flashing and background music playing. Rachel greeted him at her station, now in a new sparkly silver dress and her favorite black pumps.
"Hey Mr. S, anybody else get arrested?" she asked him.
"Not that I know of. Listen Rach, you know the napkin you drew for Yeates?" he replied.
"Yeah, I'm sorry about that. I didn't know what he wanted it for." she said.
"No, I know that. It's just, why wasn't it finished?" he asked her.
"Well, I got interrupted." she replied.
"Interrupted? By who?" he asked.
"Hunter." Sebastian cocked an eyebrow at her. "He came in to ask me out...again." she replied.
"Hunter saw Yeates and the napkin?" he asked.
"Yeah."
"Right, you seen Will?"
"Table eleven." Rachel pointed to the corner table, where William Shuester was sat with a glass of scotch. Sebastian walked over and sat down.
"So, the cops think I committed the murder." he told him.
"The cops are the least of your worries. Make the payment." Will replied.
"Right, you know you tell The Escort, unless he's willing to kill me? It's over." Sebastian said, standing up. "Oh one more thing. Anything happens to my Reese? I'm coming after you." he growled.
"Hey, I'm just the messenger!" he said.
"Right, right of course you are. Look I don't know how you got Hunter to believe all the crap that comes out of your mouth, but my gut is telling me you're nobody's messenger."
-
Reese and Sebastian watched from the mezzanine as Mercedes walked in with her entourage. She looked faboulously happy in a tight leopard print dress and her designer sunglassed perched on the bridge of her nose. She gave a quick salute towards the club owners.
"So, did the police try to convince you that I was having an affair with Jesse?" Reese asked him. Sebastian shrugged.
"That's what they do, you know? Drive wedges." he replied.
"But, it wouldn't be surprising to think that I was having an affair. I am quite beautiful, and if you look past the smooth-talking attitude, Jesse would be kind of cute." she said.
"Yeah, though I'd know if something was wrong between us. Same way that you knew I couldn't murder anybody." he replied.
"I believe you would kill for me. And I believe you'd lie about it so I wouldn't have to carry the burden. But I know you wouldn't because...you know I could never be able to look at you now if you did." she said.
"Nicky!" "Wes!" "David!" "Oh my god there they are!" several adoring cries from women erupted from the floor as their hired band, Cruefest, hopped onto the stage for sound check.
"Hey Trent! Jeff!" Reese called to the band players.
"Sup!" they called back.
"How did you convince them to leave Havenbrook and come here?" Reese asked her boyfriend.
"Benefit for the kids." he replied simply.
"We're doing a benefit for sick kids? Aw." Reese leaned up and kissed his cheek.
"Poor Quinn and Hunter." she said. "If this murder is any indication, I don't know how any homicide is ever solved."
"Everybody lies. Everyone has a-a secret agenda." he agreed.
"I'm glad we're just nightclub owner and not crime solvers." she said. Sebastian nodded before speaking again.
"I know who did it." Reese looked at him, nodding as well.
"So do I."
-
Puck and Artie walked into the nightclub after being released from prison.
"Awesome, it's Cruefest!" Puck exclaimed. He was a big fan of the band ever since he could remember.
"I've been dumped by a rock-band. This is so not my day." Artie groaned in repsonse.
Quinn followed shortly after, then being stopped by Will Shuester. He whispered something in her ear, something so mind-boggling, she couldn't think of words to say it. She just stood there, with a terrified look on her face.
-
"When did you realize it wasn't me?" Sebastian asked as they went into Reese's office.
"You would kill for me, that I know. But whoever did this knocked him out, then went and got my coat before killing him!" Reese replied. Sebastian had to pour himself a drink, just to calm his nerves. "You would never do that. Hunter is different."
"My cousin, the guy whose been like my older brother, killed someone to save my girlfriend. What do we do?" he asked her.
"Do? We thank him and shut up." she replied.
"Reese, this is a murder." he told her.
"It's more like a rescue." she protested.
"Not everything is just so clear to you!" he hissed.
"It is this time." she said. Sebastian was shaking by now.
"I don't think I can live with this." he said. Reese understood why he was so afraid. Sebastian's parents weren't around often when he was a child, and Hunter was always there for him. He was like a role model to Sebastian, and for him to know that his role model murdered someone, really shattered him.
"Boss," Puck poked his head through the door. "We have a situation."
-
Puck led them to the alley way, only to find Quinn, with her gun pointed at Hunter. Will and Emma following up behind her. Hunter had his hands up, with a smug smirk on his face.
"I'm not going to prison." he said.
"GPS puts you in this building the time of the murder." Quinn told him.
"Hey I told you, no cell phone, no GPS. You should've listened to me." Will called.
"Drop the weapon detective." Quinn told her partner. Hunter remained still, thinking how pathetic everyone was being.
"Hunter, just take out your gun." Sebastian said to his cousin.
"Oh that's exactly what I'm going to do." he said, then turned to Quinn. "You ready? I'm a quick bastard." he told her. Reese then registered what he meant.
He was going to kill Quinn.
"By the barrel, very slowly." Quinn told him, her gaze locked on him. Hunter huffed and nodded.
"That's not how it's going to go." he said, reached down for his gun. "We know how this is going to go." Quinn pulled the safety off her gun, while Will and Emma backed up, just to be on the safe side. Reese could only do one thing she could think of.
She placed herself between the gun and Hunter.
"Reese!" Sebastian called to her.
"It's okay." she told her boyfriend, than turning to Hunter. "It's all okay."
Hunter became stuck, he couldn't shoot Reese, she was a pain in the ass sometimes, yes, but she was still family. Blood or not, he couldn't kill her.
Everybody waited in anticipation at what she was going to do. Nobody saw this coming though:
"Thank you." she told him in a gentle tone. Hunter's eyes began to soften, his grip on his holster loosened. He couldn't believe that his cousin's girlfriend was thanking him for killing somebody.
Quinn, not ready to face a casualty situation, lowered her gun. Will and Emma looked at each other confused, but Sebastian put on a faint smile, he knew what Reese would do to him.
She was a good woman.
"You helped us. Now please, let us help you."
