"I'm afraid you won't be able to reopen the nightclub for quite some time." Detective Fabray told Reese as the two strutted through the pre-synct.

"Where can I appeal that decision?" Reese asked her. Detective Fabray cocked her eyebrows as she held the door open for the young woman.

"Wow, so what they said about you is true." she said as they went into the office.

"What's that?" Reese asked, fearing the answer.

"That you're kind of a cold fish." Fabray replied.

"If my 'cold fish' you mean pragmatic and rational?" Reese guessed

"No, I mean someone when a human being is murdered, cares more about reopening her club than catching the murderer." she replied. Reese scoffed.

"I have my job, you have yours." she said, that was her best comeback.

"Where were you really last night?" Detective Fabray asked as she sat down at her desk. "Who were you with?"

"I had a very satisfying go-round with my boyfriend at about five this morning. how 'bout you?" she asked.

"The victim was killed by a gun-shot wound to the chest. Guns are loud, but you did not hear it. You were not in the building. Either we talk about this now, maybe it goes no farther. Otherwise, I gotta pursue this line of inquiry in a graceless manor." Fabray said.

"So, this is blackmail?" Reese asked.

"You pride yourself on being pragmatic. I figured you'd appreciate the logic."

Hunter was in the staff kitchen, getting his afternoon cup of coffee, while his cousin was leaning against the doorframe impatiently.

"This guy, St. John, or whoever he is, how bad does he want your place?" Hunter asked him.

"St. James? Kind of guy who won't take 'No' for an answer, why?" Sebastian replied.

"Because the guy comes up shady. But he's got an alibi for last night. Two hooker alibis in fact." he said. "I'm gonna tell you something, something Quinn doesn't even know."

"What is it?" Sebastian asked.

"Coroners found fibers inside the bullet track, from something used to muffle the gun." he explained.

"That would explain why Reese didn't hear it." Sebastian said.

"Yeah, it's amazing what forensics can do these days." Hunter said. "Now, if we happen to find that particular item, it could lead straight to the killer." Sebastian nodded slowly.

"And you think I know where it is?" he guessed. Hunter just shrugged.

"I'm just saying, best thing is that item never shows up." he said.

-

"Quinn says everybody thinks I'm a cold-fish." Reese said as they drove to their apartment in Westerville.

"What you are is Iceland. Cool to the touch, but underneath, you're all volcano." Sebastian replied. Reese just laughed at him.

"I don't like people thinking that I'm a cold fish." she said.

"Look, if you were really a cold fish, you wouldn't care." he replied.

"You used logic on me, that's sweet." she said. "Quinn said the reason I didn't hear the gunshot was because I'm cheating on you." Sebastian raised an eyebrow.

"Are you?" he asked.

"Nope."

"Good. But you know, Hunter thinks that I'm the one who murdered that guy last night." he said.

"Did you?" she asked.

"Nope."

"Good."

"Yeah, he thinks he's helping me get away with it." he said.

"Wow, so you're a murderer and I'm unfaithful? We are a very exciting couple." Reese beamed.

"Except the real reason you didn't hear anything is because the gunshot was muffled." Sebastian said.

"Oh, that's not as exciting but okay." she said, jsut before the phone started to ring.

"That's Emma's phone. What she calling for?" Sebastian asked as he picked up on the bluetooth system, just to be safe while they were driving. "Hello, you've reached Bonnie and Clyde." he joked.

"Murders incorporated!" Reese added, laughing while doing so. "How may we help you?" they both asked.

Emma chuckled from the other line as she handed the phone to Will. "Yeah it's uh, it's Will." he said.

"Will? What're you doing on Emma's phone?" Sebastian asked.

"I don't own a cell phone. Big Brother always knows where you are." he replied.

"I guess when you're as shifty as Will, it's good to be paranoid." Emma said while on speaker phone.

"You're open for business tonight." Will said.

"Wha-how did you swing that?" Reese asked in a surprised manor.

"Let's say I went in the front door, Will slipped through the back and we got it covered." Emma replied.

"What does that mean?" Sebastian asked.

"Just means you gotta remember about what they say about one hand washing the other." he replied. Emma hung up after his comment.

"That particular cliché pertains to people with clean hands, Will." she scolded him. "You, do not qualify"

Artie was in the back unloading all of his sound equipment. As one of the best DJs in town, he was known for being quite a techy and dropping incredible hits, modern or old-school at the New Warbler.

"There's a blood stain on the bathroom wall." Kurt said as he watched his friend.

"Yeah, someone bashed his head guy's head against the wall, knocked him out, than came back, finished him off with a shot to chest. A very cold-blooded execution." Artie replied.

"How did you know that?" Kurt asked him.

"I eavesdropped on the cops. Also, they're looking for something that was used to muffle the sound of the gunshot." he replied as she pulled the cap off his stereo, not realising what was encased inside. But Kurt noticed it right away.

"Why do you have a gun?" he asked as he picked up the weapon from the stereo. Artie looked back and jumped.

"What-oh...oh my god. Okay, I'm a techy, alright? We don't use guns, we use our smarts. What you picked up is what I believe to be the murder weapon." he replied.

"Why would the murderer hide it in your stuff?" Kurt asked him as he put it back on the stereo.

"Because maybe the murderer issued me out as, you know, the type of guy who'd be smart enough to get rid of it?" he suggested, they both were crouched down and inspecting the gun. "Evidently, he didn't expect you to be here when I discovered it."

"Maybe we should get rid of it?" Kurt suggested.

"You and I are in collusion." Artie told him.

"Why not?"

"Because you'd be the type of idiot to go to jail for a crime he didn't commit. And I uh, am not."

"Then what do we do?" Kurt asked him.

"Okay, what I should do is this: I'll kill you with the gun and then tell the cops that you attacked me after admitting that you were in fact the murderer." Artie said, then holding up his hand for a high-five. Kurt just gawked at him, terrified at what he was suggesting.
