To know I was nearly killed in a car accident freaked me out, because the last thing I can remember is beating up Hunter. But, I was proud to know that I saved my girlfriend from a terrible accident. And here she was with me, taking care of me. She wasn't freaking out or breaking down crying like most girls would do (trust me, I found that extremely odd as well), but it was fantastic to see her smiling again.
"So what happened while you were out? Did you dream?" Reese asked me.
"It was like being in some kind of never ending sleep. But yeah I did have a dream."
"About?"
"It was really weird. You and me owned this nightclub and all your friends worked for us. Then there was this guy who got murdered in the bathroom and we had to figure out who it was. A lot of the people in the dream suspected us." I replied. Reese's eyes went wide.
"Woah."
"What?"
"There's a book that I've been reading, and I want you to read it too. I think you'll like it." she said.
"Oh yeah? What's it called?" I asked.
"Um, Desires are Our Greatest Fear or Downfall or something like that. It was actually very good for a cheap romantic sex book." she replied.
"Well you should bring it over while I'm here, it'll give me something to do." I said.
"You got TV."
"That's broadcasting the accident far and wide. And if it's not the accident, it's something else just as depressing. I don't want to watch TV." Reese snickered.
"Well whatever, I'm just happy that you're okay." she said.
A kncok came from the cracked open door, and Kurt stood there.
"Hey, how's it going?" he asked me.
"I've been better. How 'bout you?" I replied.
"So-so. Reese, could you give us a moment?" he asked her.
"Alright, play nice you two, or there'll be consequences." she said as she stood up, leaving us together. Kurt took a seat in one of the chairs.
"I talked to the doctor, he said you can go home by the weekend." he said.
"That'll be nice. I miss my mom." I replied.
"How 'bout your big, corporate lawyer dad?" he asked.
"Nah, he hasn't come to see me yet. I don't think he will." I replied.
"Well you know, I heard Reese went over to his law firm and gave him a piece of her mind. Maybe he will." he said.
"Maybe."
"Sebastian, what do you remember from waking up the other day?" Kurt asked.
"What do you mean?"
"What happened when you woke up?" he asked again.
"Well, at first I thought I was dead because I could see white, but then I heard Reese singing, and I looked over and there she was. She was drawing me." I said with a grin.
"I caught a peek of the picture, she's very talented." he agreed.
"I think I woke up when Reese started singing, her voice brought me back. It was like she was calling me, and I responded. Cheesy I know but..."
"No, that's not cheesy or cliché or whatever. A few years ago I didn't believe that there wasn't...something else out there. Like a God or anything. But, he gave me back my dad, and he brought you back to Reese. So you know, I think there is some kind of...mysteriousness that we don't quite understand, but that's a good thing in my opinion." he said.
"Maybe the man upstairs wanted to give me a second chance? Maybe he saw me wanting to redeem myself, and here I am redeeming." I said.
"He brought you back because Reese would be broken for the rest of her life if he didn't. Which is where I want to ask now, what attracted you to Reese in the beginning?" he asked.
"Well, she's hot for one thing, but that's not just it. Reese has this certain persona where everyone she meets, she affects. She got me caught up in her web, and I'm in no hurry to untangle myself." I said, very proud of my answer.
"Nice metaphor. But, why did you push Reese out of the way of that car? Not that I don't love Reese, because trust me I do, but I didn't know why." he said.
"I think Blaine would do the same for you, or vice versa. If I let Reese just get hit by a car, then watched her die, it'd be like committing a crime. I couldn't let this beautiful light that she posesses leave the world just yet. And you may not believe me, but I do love her. She changed me. I don't know what she did, but I love it. I love who I've become. And I want you all to love me for it too." I said. Kurt just nodded silently.
"I'm sorry Kurt, I'm sorry for-for everything. Trust me, if I'd be having some doubts if I were you too, but just give me one more chance. One more chance to prove that I love Reese and I'll go to the ends of the earth to defend her." he actually smiled after I said that, and a sense of pride started running through my body. Maybe he was actually willing to give me another chance.
"I'm sorry too, for everything that I said that night. If I hadn't been such a pimadonna, none of this would've happened. But after that night, I saw who you really were, and I'm actually willing to sit down with this guy, share a bowl of popcorn and diet pepsi, and watch a marathon of America's Top Model." he said. I hoped that was a joke, but I laughed anyway.
"Sounds great, but I want to untroduce you to a show called Drop Dead Diva. I think you'll like it." I said. Kurt pulled a little box out of his pocket and handed it to me.
"This is a little get-well-soon present I made while you were out. I figured it could also be a pre-graduation present." he said. I took the little red box and opened it. Inside was a key.
"What's this for?" I asked.
"Rachel told me about your acceptance letter to Julliard, and I figured if you're moving to New York, than you're going to need a place to stay. This is a key to our apartment. I want you to come live with us." he replied. Was he joking? Is this some kind of practical joke?
"You're serious?" I asked him.
"Like a heart attack. You've proven to me you're not the same guy you were a year ago, and I like that about you. I want you to come live with us." he replied.
"Thank you so much Kurt. This is amazing." I said.
"I'm glad you like it, but listen. If you break Reese's heart, you're out. I swear to God, we'll kick you to the curb faster than you can blink." he said.
"I believe you. You won't disappointed. I promise." I replied.
"Good, now we got one more issue to take care of." he said.
"What's that?" I asked.
"You're so called 'best friend'."
