Lisa fell asleep in Taehyung's arms, sniffling slightly every now and then.
Her face was swollen and her nose was as red as an apple— she looked so broken.
Taehyung grimaced at the fact that he couldn't do much but comfort her. He wanted to do more than what was expected of him.
He wanted to be there for her.
In fact—
He wanted to be hers. But she can never love him
like how she loves Jungkook. The only thing Taehyung could do– was be there for her. Be that shoulder she can lean on when Jungkook's not by her side.
Basically, Taehyung was a plaster to Lisa's open wound. He can never be the healer that she needs.
No matter how much it broke dear Taehyung's heart— he can't help but crawl back to her arms that weren't even his to begin with.
Taehyung was everything
Jungkook wasn't— or should've been.Jungkook used to be so sweet that Lisa thought he would give her a toothache, used to be so loving that Lisa thought she couldn't love him as much. Used to be as caring like a soft pillow she could bury herself in and never get tired of.
He fell in love with Lisa the moment he saw her. He knew it, in his bones, that she'd be the one he would marry.
They were happy.
Taehyung was happy for them. But Jungkook lost sight of what's important and look at them now— gasping for air as they drown in the dark, gruesome ocean they dare call love.
Taehyung was fucking sick of it all. Sick of seeing her cry. Sick of seeing new bruises every now and then because of how impatient and jealous Jungkook could get over the simplest of things.
Though he felt that way— he can never amount to what Jungkook was in Lisa's eyes.
What's worse is that how deep Taehyung had fallen for her. Each passing day felt like torture as Taehyung carried the heavy burden like it was his most prized possession.
How much his poor heart would ache, because he can't tell anyone about how wonderful he feels when he's with her.
How she brought light to his
world that used to be dark. She was the brightest star
in Taehyung's eyes. How he wished Jungkook could see that.
"YAH LALISA— oh Taehyung oppa I uh– didn't know you were here" Chaeyoung appeared at the front door with takeaways in her hands— the look of shock evident on her face as Lisa slept on Taehyung's lap on the living room couch.
"Ah Chaeyoung! I uh didn't know you were coming" Taehyung chuckled nervously, fidgeting awkwardly as he looked down on the sleeping figure on his lap.
"I heard about what happened with Jungkook. She left me a cryptic message.. somewhere along the lines of 'I need you' while I was at work. I had to check if she was okay..." Chaeyoung trailed off, taking off her boots and settling it by the shoe rack.
"She messaged me too" Taehyung slowly placed Lisa's head onto the couch as he stood up to help Chaeyoung carry the food to the kitchen.
"Thank you.."
"Don't mention it— anyways I should go" Taehyung bowed deeply towards Chaeyoung, which caught her off guard.
The red haired girl was all but oblivious about the situation surrounding Taehyung and Lisa.
Since day one, Chaeyoung knew Taehyung felt something– deep down —for Lisa. It was so obvious to the point that everyone in their circle knows. Well pretty much everyone except Jungkook.
An oblivious pair,
—both him and Lisa.Taehyung never took advantage of the time he had been recently spending with Lisa, due to Jungkook's stupidity and ignorance.
Taehyung respected her unreasonable decisions and decided that he should stay away from something he shouldn't be meddling with.
That's why no one dared to tell Lisa anything. It was an unspoken decision that they should let time take its course.
Love is war and paradise. To Taehyung? It is was Lisa. His very definition of love itself— was Lisa.
