As soon as Yeri left, Jungkook aggravatingly rubbed his temples as he remained standing by the door.

Seeing as the coast was clear— Taehyung stepped out of the shadows, a bouquet of flowers in his hands.

His suspicious eyes remained on Jungkook who seemed oblivious to the fact that he was already standing in front of him.

Coughing awkwardly, Taehyung caught Jungkook's attention who seemed evidently shocked— clearly not expecting anymore guests.

"Hey Kook.."

"Hyung.. I— didn't know you were coming today" Jungkook stuttered looking behind Taehyung- not wanting to see a familiar face; still lingering.

"I always visit Lisa on my days off.. sorry I didn't tell you" Taehyung trailed off, scratching the back of his neck as the awkward tension intensified. He looked at Jungkook whom was staring at the bouquet of flowers Taehyung had tucked in his hands.

"Are those for Lisa? Thanks hyung.. Here- I'll put them in a vase" it was evident in Taehyung's eyes that Jungkook forced a smile, as he grabbed the flowers from his hands—  who in turn stumbled back as he watched Jungkook enter the room, leaving the door slightly ajar.

Taehyung felt the atmosphere shift from bad to worse. Jungkook was a hard one to read. To Taehyung— no matter how close they were— Jungkook was always closed so off.

Hiding his emotions and thoughts; he was keen on not letting anyone in— except Lisa: Taehyung thought.

Lisa cracked him like an egg— not even breaking a sweat she had Jungkook in the palm of her hands with just a fleeting look.

"How is she?"

Silence followed at the two men stared at Lisa— who was practically skin and bones. Her face was sunken and she never looked paler.

She's as white as a blank sheet of paper.

The awkwardness began to intensify and Taehyung felt like he should say something— anything.

"She's fine" Jungkook sat down the chair by Lisa's bed, a heavy sigh escaping his chapped lips. He looked like a complete mess.

Dark circles, unkempt hair, unshaven beard.

He looked ten years older.

"I see" Taehyung sat on the couch, nearer to the wall as he watched Jungkook kiss Lisa's hand every minute as he whispered to her— as if he wasn't there at all.

To Taehyung, it was clear cut that Jungkook still loves Lisa. Though it seemed like it was due to regret.

The accident was like a
slap to the face.

A wake up call.

Like someone had poured boiling hot water all over him and it left a scar.

A scar that no matter how hard he tried to close it— it will never. It will remain open.

"How are you?" Taehyung gripped the leather couch as Jungkook's eyes slowly moved from Lisa— to him.

"He looks like shit" Taehyung thought to himself as Jungkook licked his dried lips.

"Been better.. you?"

"Hard at work.. I'm currently planning on starting an album"

Taehyung mumbled as he watch Jungkook shift in his sit.

"What's the concept?" Jungkook tried to keep the ball rolling.

"Emptiness" Taehyung hesitantly mumbled as he fidgeted in his seat.

"Maybe I can help you with that" Jungkook joked.

The silence that left came running back. This time— its determined to stay.

Taehyung couldn't tell whether he was joking or if he was serious. Jungkook was like a ticking time bomb. Its frightening when he's angry.

He didn't dare utter a word.

He swallowed the bile that formed in his throat.

"I can write a song about how I fucked my life upside— inside out" Jungkook slammed his fist against the bedside table.

"Kook—"

"Hyung I think it's time to leave."

Jungkook cut Taehyung off, standing up as he proceeded to open the door for Taehyung.

Leaving him no other choice, Taehyung begrudgingly walked towards the door, eyes on Lisa- then to Jungkook.

"Thank you for visiting hyung." Jungkook gave Taehyung a tight lipped smile.

"My pleasure. I hope she wakes up soon." Taehyung gave the same fake smile as he bowed slightly.

As soon as he stepped out the door closed. It was clear Jungkook wasn't in the right state of mind.

When was he ever?

He ruined Lisa.

She could've been happy.

She could've been alive and well— smiling as she danced her heart out.

She could've been Taehyung's.

She could've been his.

She could've been his
