Oscar:
I walk into the common area and close the door of her apartment behind me with the stupid smirk still present in my face. I attempt to open my apartment since I always leave it unlocked, but I find it locked. I frown, I wasn't doubting Cat, I just thought that whoever it was would had left by now.
I pull the keys from my fanny pack and open the door. Just when I close the door behind me I hear a noise. I turn around to find an arrow being pointed at my head, with my own bow. I raise my hands, dropping my keys in the same motion, and when I hear them touch the flor I take that instant of a distraction to disarm the intruder from her weapon.
"Don't ever hesitate to shot a threat", I mutter, pinning her body under me.
"I'm not exactly the best at fighting", she says trying to push me off. I get up and offer her a hand, she takes it. "And I thought you were Cat", Ashley adds getting up.
I huff a laughter. "If it had been Cat you wouldn't be on your feet right now", I say. "What did you want anyway? Cat heard you open her apartment", I say moving to the living room of my apartment, I hear her following behind me.
"I know she heard me, I swear I thought she was going to kill me", she exclaims dropping herself on the sofa in front of the one I'm sitting on. I laugh at the exaggeration. "Don't laugh! Your girlfriend is crazy", she says pointing her finger at me. "And I just wanted to know what happened. You left so suddenly that I got worried".
"I just wasn't hungry", I shrug. "And I wanted to apologize to Cat before going to sleep", I add so that she doesn't ask why I wasn't in my flat.
"Well, I think she forgave you. I really thought you were going to stay to sleep with her", she taunts.
"How much exactly did you see?", I ask crossing my arms.
"I didn't see anything, but I heard enough. I thought I told you not to pressure her, and the first thing you do is to try and get her in bed. You men seriously don't have your brain in the right place", she says shaking her head.
"She started it! Why do you blame me for everything?", I ask angrily.
"Was she the one who kissed you first?"
"No but-"
"Then why did you do it?", she questions angrily.
"She was literally begging me to kiss her! Plus, she could had stopped at any moment and she didn't!", I answer.
Ash sighs. "Ok... but was she kissing you or... you know... one of them?", she asks and I curse the day I told her about it.
"First, don't talk about them like that, they're my siblings, not monsters. But I'm not sure, I think she knew it was me, and she did confirm that she loves me, that wasn't like other times, but I do know that at first she was seeing me as someone else, a threat or something, I don't know", I let out frustrated, wishing she would talk to me about it, or at least confess that she loved them. She has only told me when she thought I was one of them.
"So, she's still seeing them", Ash concludes and I answer with a nod. "And she hasn't really told you about them yet", she says, to which I shake my head.
"I even tried to get her to tell me by asking her about them, but the maximum sing of affection towards them I got from her was that she misses them", I say.
"Do you think she might have noticed what you were trying?", she asks.
"No, she thought we were just talking about old times, which is what ended up happening", I say. She sighs, looking around for answers.
"Well, good luck. I can still ask Tyler to get some information if you want, you know they hang out a lot", she says, which only reminds me that not only do I have to compete against the memory of two of my siblings but also against a tiger who only knows how to make her laugh.
"No thanks, I will solve it on my own", I say with a straight face. Ash shakes her head at me.
"I can't believe you're still jealous of him, Sash is more of a threat to your relationship than what Tyler will ever be, trust me", she says standing up.
"Still, I'd rather not risk it", I say trying not to let my anger show too much.
She continues shaking her head at me. "Believe me, Cat is not his type, besides he is almost ten years older than you. We're oldies compared to you!", she says laughing. "And this old lady has things to do, so I'll be on my way, if you excuse me", she says politely.
"You're not old, you've just lived more than I have", I say as I walk her to the door.
"Yeah, but not more than her", she comments pointing at Cat's apartment. "The girl has been through a lot, so don't pressure her too much, although apparently all my advice falls on deaf ears", she adds, I nod understandingly. I know what she's referring to, I told her about it.
"I was hoping I could make her forget, she's always smiling when she isn't thinking about what happened", I explain.
"I know, but some people would rather keep themselves thinking about the past until they're over it. It's not good for the person but you have to respect their decision", she says.
"It's just been too long", I sigh. "I just want her to be happy".
"I know, she deserves it. Good luck, and good day, I have to start preparing lunch, sleep well", Ash says crossing the door. I wave her back and close the door.
