introducing others to Christ

Let's be clear on something: you can't force people to follow God. You can't drag them to church against their will and expect them to accept God right away. It won't work. It takes time. Following God is an internal choice.

Please know that I am not an expert about this at all. I'm simply giving advice that I've heard in church services and what's worked best for me.

Taking the first step is difficult, I know. It can be nerve-wracking asking someone who is new to the aspect of church. Personally, if I were to ask someone to come to my church, I would invite them to a fun event or gathering. For example, my church has a summer and winter retreat. I would invite my friend to come on one of those because while they're fun, they're also life-changing and the pastors who preach have very good messages.

If the person says no, they say no. That's their choice, but don't give up on them. Instead, pray for them and ask them about it after some time has passed. I know someone who has been praying for their friend for years to come to church, and her friend was recently baptized.

Remember: it takes times. Sometimes it can take people a hour to decide follow God and other times it takes a year. Be patient. God knows what He's doing.

"Have patience, God isn't finished yet."
