Demi drives away from the Mayor's house and towards the end of town when she spies Emma's book on the seat next to her.

"Sneaky bastard." As she looks up, she sees a wolf standing in the road and gasps. The car spins out of control and crashes into the "Welcome to Storybrooke" sign. Demi's head hits the steering wheel and falls unconscious.

The next morning Demi opens her eyes to the sound of whistling in the cell next to her. She sits up and looks at him. "What're you looking at, sister?" An older guy walks over, "hey, Leroy-manners! We have a guest! So you are eh, Emma's mother. How lovely for her to have you back in her life."

"Actually, I was just dropping her off." Demi rubs the side of her head. "Tkh. Don't blame ya. They're all brats; who needs 'em." Leroy says. "Well I'd give anything for one. My wife and I, we tried for many years, but, uh.. it was not meant to be." The older guy, whose name was Marco, said.

"Well cry me a river." Leroy rolled his eyes. Sheriff Graham enters and unlocks Leroy's cell, "Leroy! I'm going to let you out; you need to behave. Put on a smile, and stay out of trouble." Leroy smiles falsely then leaves.

Demi leaned on the prison bars, "seriously?" Sheriff Graham walked over to her, "Regina's drinks; a little stronger than we thought." Demi rolled her eyes, "I wasn't drunk; there was a wolf, standing in the middle of the road."

"A wolf. Right."

"Graham? Emma's run away again, we have to--what is she doing here?" Regina looks from Graham to Demi, "Do you know where she is?" Demi stands up, "Lady, I haven't seen her since I dropped her off at your house, and pretty good alibi." She indicates the prison bars.

"Yeah, well, she wasn't in her room this morning." Regina sighs. "Did you try her friends?" Demi asks. "She doesn't really have any. Kind of a loner." Regina replies. "Every kid has friends. Did you check her computer? If she was close to someone she'd be emailing them."

Regina places her hands on her hips, "and you know this how?"

"Finding people is what I do. Here's an idea; how 'bout you guys let me out, and I'll help you find her."

Graham lets Demi out of the cell and they head over to the Mayor's house. "Smart kid. Cleared her inbox. I'm smart too, a little hard disk utility I like to use."

"I'm a bit not old-fashioned, in my techniques. Pounding the pavement, knocking on doors, that sort of thing." Graham says as he watches Demi.

"You're on salary; I get paid for delivery. Pounding pavement is not a luxury I get. Ah, there's a receipt for a website, whosyourmomma.org - it's expensive. She has a credit card?" Demi looks at Regina.
"She's 10."  Regina replies. "Well, she used one. Let's pull up a transaction record. Mary Margaret Blanchard. Who's Mary Margaret Blanchard?"

Regina looks at the computer screen, "Emma's teacher."
