"Stay alive..."

I can particularly hear his voice as I read the letter he left for me. Maybe for me to feel something? Maybe to rise my determination? Who knows

"Stay alive...?" I ask myself, out loud.

I look at the paper, as if talking to him.

"I have never seen the General so despondent," I say.

I put the letter down, taking my head into my hands.

"I have taken over writing all his correspondence," I say.

It was 16,000 words long. We could just pray they took it into heart.... but.

"Congress writes, 'Token, attack the British forces.' So I shoot back, 'We have resorted to eating our horses!'" I say.

I sigh.

"They only take British money," i say.

I start tearing up, taking the letter into my chest, close to my heart.

"And I tell the Congress... So sing a song of sixpence," I say.

"The cavalry's not coming," Token says.

"But sir!" I say.

"Wendy. Listen. There's only one way for us to win this," Token says.

I look at him.

"Provoke outrage, outright," Token says.

I smile.

"That's right!" I say.

"Don't engage, strike by night!Remain relentless 'til their troops take flight," Token says.

He's a genius!

"Make it impossible to justify the cost of the fight," I mutter.

He's trying a whole new way to fight!

"Outrun," He says, with determination.

"Outrun," I echo, nodding.

"Outlast," He says, starting to smile just slightly.

"Outlast!" I say.

"Hit 'em quick, get out fast!" He says.

"Chick-a-plao!" I say, laughing slightly.

I might just do it. Admittedly, maybe not alive but we can do this!

"Stay alive 'til this horror show is past! We're gonna fly a lot of flags half-mast," Token says.

True for that. Will we even have time for them all?
