Take a break and dear Theodosia (reprise) (chapter 17.)

WE ARE ON IT LADIES, NON-BINARIES AND GENTS, MY FAVOURITE SONG IS A-COMING IN THIS CHAPTER! (Not) Fun fact: Maria Reynolds didn't offer sex as payment. The one suggesting it (admittedly possibly in the form of a joke) was Alexander (Man whore) Hamilton. Also, I am aware of Elizabeth Hamilton not speaking French, creative freedom was used by Lin. Also, I'm using my creative freedom. Dear Theodosia (both versions) are my favourite song but the reprise is by far more important to me. So i took it under my wing!

"Un deux trois quatre Cinq six sept huit neuf," Stan says.

"Un deux trois quatre," Ike says.

There is a slight break.

"Cinq six... huit neuf?" Ike asks.

"Good! Un deux trois quatre Cinq six sept huit neuf," Stan says.

Ike repeats.

"One two three four five six seven eight nine!" Both of them count.

'My dearest, Kyle, tomorrow and tomorrow and tomorrow Creeps in this petty pace from day to day! I trust you'll understand the reference to another Scottish tragedy without my having to name the play! They think me Macbeth, and ambition is my folly, I'm a polymath, a pain in the ass, a massive pain! Malkison is Banquo, Nelson's Macduff.... And Birnam Wood is Congress on its way to Dunsinane.'

Wendy sighs, looking at the letter.

"And there you are, an ocean away!" She says.

It's been two years since they have seen each other.... in it's most sad form!

"Do you have to live an ocean away?" Wendy asks.

"Thoughts of you subside, then I get another letter, I cannot put the notion away."

He is missing her too, admittedly, he tries to deny.

"Take a break," Stan says.

"I am on my way," Wendy says.

"There's a little surprise before supper and it cannot wait," Stan says.

"I'll be there in just a minute, save my plate," Wendy says.

"Wendy," Stan says.

Wendy laughs and get the letter along.

"Okay, okay," Wendy says.

"Your son is nine years old today! He has something he'd like to say, he's been practicing all day, Ike, take it away," Stan says.

"Mommy mommy, look," Ike says.

He smiles.

"My name is Ike. Poems are the things I can make. This is written for that fact's sake. And I, just turned nine! You can write rhymes but you can't write mine! I practice French and play piano with my mother! I have a sister but I want an another little brother!" Ike says.

"Oookay," Wendy says.

"My mommy trying to start America's bank! Un deux trois quatre cinq!" Ike says.
