"War hero Gerald Broflovski loses senate seat to young upstart Craig Tucker." Grandpa just lost his seat in the senate!" Ike says.
"Sometimes... that's how it goes," I say.
I couldn't be more grateful for the man for taking me in as if I were his son. Both Leo and I did go to our own families but mine wasn't safe for reasons out of my parents control and Leo had reasons in his parents control they refused any change to.
"Mommy's gonna find out any minute!" Ike says.
"I'm sure she already knows," I say.
She does nothing but work....
"Further down-," Ike says.
"Yeah? What was it there further down?" I ask.
"Let's meet the newest senator from New York," Ike says.
"New York."
They romanticised New York quite often, saying that there we could be new... what a joke?
"Our senator," Ike states.
The loud sound of Wendy stepping over herself to open the door can be heard.
"Tucker? Since when are you a Democratic-Republican?" Wendy asks.
"Since being one put me on the up and up again," Craig responds.
"No one knows who you are or what you do," Wendy says, the most passive aggressive I have ever heard her.
"They don't need to know me. They don't like you," Craig says.
Politics are so stupid!
"Excuse me?" Wendy asks.
"Oh, Wall Street thinks you're great!
You'll always be adored by the things you create," Craig says.
He smirks.
"But upstate—," He says.
"Wait," Wendy says.
"—people think you're crooked," he says.
They stare each other down for a moment.
"Broflovski's seat was up for grabs so I took it," he says.
"I've always considered you a friend," Wendy says.
"I don't see why that has to end," Craig says.
"You changed parties to run against my technical father-in-law," Wendy says.
"I changed parties to seize the opportunity I saw, I swear your pride will be the death of us all...
Beware, it goeth before the fall," Craig says.
