“Umm… Everyone! Stay in alphabetical order!” Said Mr. Dasuke as he tried desperately to get the whole class in alphabetical order to count the students. Ayano, notorious for a childish behavior, started to shed tears. “M-M-Mister D-Dasuke! Will we be okay?!” Ayano looked up to him with puppy eyes. I know I shouldn’t be laughing at times like these, but seeing Mr. Dasuke’s response to Ayano’s puppy eyes made me laugh really hard. It’s priceless when Ayano is over there bawling her eyes out in front of Mr. D as he’s mentally panicking. “We’ll be alright, hopefully.” Said Mr. Dasuke. “Hopefully?!” Repeated Ayano. “What does that mean?!” “Is there a possibility we’ll die?!” Ayano continued to cry and scream at poor Dasuke. “Well, we still got to be careful.” Dasuke was clearly disturbed by Ayano’s loud scream. “Boy, I hope I’ll die by this fire." He whispered to himself. Since we were in alphabetical order, me and Nuage were together. We’ve always been together in order along with Daylin since first grade. It’s such a coincidence that our last names are right next to each other in terms of alphabetical order. But this time Daylin won’t be with us since he got a different class than us which is the first time this happened. Eventually all the other classes went into their own reserved spots. Some of the students saw this as an opportunity to waste class time while others were legitimately scared, like Ayano.

Unexpectedly, the Principal of our school came out and stood in front of the whole school. It was surprising because out the two years that I’ve spended in this school, the Principal never came out to greet anyone, he was always in his office isolated. So this is the first time I’ve ever seen him before. He was a really short man, I’m one to talk because we might be the same height considering that I’m very short myself at about five feet and three inches. He also had a very white thick beard which kinda made him look like Colonel Sanders from KFC. “Hello students of Woodland River High School!” Said the Principal. His voice was so loud and masculine as if he were yelling at us. “I know that there seems to be an emergency going on, and I apologize for this! We won’t let anything like this happen again!” As he apologized to us, the fire department pulled into the parking lot and infiltrated the building.

I was sitting down with Nuage, thinking to myself, when I saw a figure in the window of the school building, glowing. I couldn’t tell what or who is was, but that thing gave off a white light that almost made it too blinding to look at. The figure was dashing back and forth throughout the classroom he was in as if it were looking for something it had lost. I politely raise my hand and Dasuke walked over. “What do you need Nazuni?” “There’s someone still in there.” I pointed to the classroom window where I saw the entity. As soon as Mr. Dasuke turned to look at the classroom the entity disappeared. “Where Nazuni?” Said Mr. Dasuke scanning the window for anything moving. What happened to it? What was it? A ghost? It probably was a ghost. If it’s not, well… I guess I’m going crazy then. The smoke from the fire came from a classroom that was currently being extinguished. Meanwhile, fire of a similar size started on the other side of the campus. The firefighters noticed that too. A group of firefighters came to give the details to the Principal. “We put out the fire in the classroom, but it seems a snake escaped and knocked over a lamp, causing that fire.” The Principal raised an eyebrow flabbergastingly. “Anything else?” He said. “Well… it appears another fire arose across the campus, it could be man made.” “Get the police involved asap.” Demanded the Principal. The firefighters left and dispersed in different directions.

Man made they said? Could it be a student from our school? A trespasser? But what would their motive be? It’s so confusing. “Might want to talk to her.” Said Nuage pointing to Aki who is curled up in a ball and has her head down. “What do I say?” I Asked Nuage. “I’ve never had a female friend before, what do I do” Nuage let out a stretched out sigh. “It’s not that different than talking to a guy.” “But why me? Doesn’t she have any other friends besides me?” “Doesn’t look like she does.” Nuage grabbed me by the jacket collar and dragged me towards Aki. “Hey hey hey! Stop it! You’re going to stretch it out!” Nuage rolled his eyes and continued to drag me across the field and threw me in front of Aki and walked off.
