“Ah! That was a good gaming session!” Yawned Daylin. “Session? It’s been three hours.” Remarked Nuage. “Whatever, I still destroyed you guys at the game.” “You practiced though!” I Said butting into the conversation. “That’s your fault Nazuni. Where in the rules does it say you can’t practice before playing with someone locally?” “Yeah yeah I get it.” “So tell me Naz, what’s the win and lose ratio between us?” Now Daylin is just gloating. I just want to beat the crap out of him. It will be payback for talking bad about me to the other guy too. I just sucked it up and told him the ratio. “Umm… It was forty to zero.” “That’s right! A forty win streak! I think I beat my record!” “Whatever, we are done playing anyways. Anyone want a popsicle?” I asked. “Dude it’s late October, isn’t it too cold for a popsicle?” Asked Daylin. “It’s still taste good though.” Said Nuage as he’s reaching for a popsicle I’m handing him. “You sure you don’t want a popsicle Daylin?” “Nah I’m good I got to get pretty soon anyways.” That’s pretty weird of Daylin, he’s usually the last one to leave my house. He’s usually at my house until about ten at night. It’s only five. “Why are you leaving so soon?” I asked. “I got to run some errands.” “What kind of errands?” “The usual. Grocery shopping, you know, that kind of stuff.” He seems kinda suspicious. It’s hard to explain but I feel like he’s hiding something. I’m not stupid to not notice that Daylin is trying to make as little eye contact with me as possible.
“Anyways, I got to go, see you guys tomorrow!” Daylin walked out of my room and ran down the stair to the front door. “Nuage?” “What?” “Let's follow Daylin.” “Why? I don’t see any benefits in doing this.” “Don't you think he’s acting strange?” “No. He’s the same idiot as always.” “Okay, so I’m going to follow him myself.” “Go for it. I’m going home.” Soon afterwards, Nuage walked out of the front door and him and Daylin went opposite ways home.
As I I was tailing Daylin, I notice the sky getting darker and darker. “Ah man! I’m going to miss stargazing tonight.” I whispered to myself. Daylin slowly made twist and turns throughout the neighborhood glazed with dark orange light which came from the setting sun. Where Daylin went I followed. He crept his way into an alley between two house. The walkway through the alley was extremely dark due to the shadows of the houses casting over us. The moon slowly emerging out of sleep doesn’t help it either. I was hanging behind Daylin, maybe about twenty five feet or so, but discovered a silhouette of a gang of cats sitting on the fence.
“Meow! Meeooww!” said the chorus of cats. “Shhhh! You guys got to stay quiet.” I whispered to the cats. “Meow! Meow!” “Shhh!” “Meow!!!” “Shh!!” I reached out towards the cats to get them to calm down but a black furred one scratched me. “Ouch!” I yelped in pain. As if hearing his mother fall down the stairs, Daylin swiftly turned his head. In a last ditch effort to hide my presence from Daylin, I jumped the fence right into the backyard of one of the houses next to the alley. “Huh?” said Daylin after he heard a thump that was produced by me face planting on the ground after quickly jumping the fence. He shrugged it off and kept on walking to his unknown destination. “Ow!” I whispered as I rub my head which took the blunt of the fall. The cats took turns hissing at me but suddenly fled. A huge figure appeared in front of me with a menacing growl. I swear the thing had glowing red eyes! The being slowly advanced towards me, forcing me to back up to the fence. As I got a better look at the thing, it was a giant bulldog. “Please don’t eat me, uhm…” I looked at the dogs neck collar and saw a name tag with the name “Milo” on it. “Please don’t eat me… Milo?” That’s absurd. Who names a behemoth Milo? That’s like naming a teacup chihuahua “Spike” or “Goliath.”
I feel like the dog was reading my mind since it was getting more aggravated and started barking. “Bark! Bark! Bark!” Soon afterwards I saw one of the windows to the house emit light. The house owners woke up. “Anyone there?” yawned an old skinny man as he was scanning the backyard for lifeforms. He looks like he could pass out at any moment. Now ignoring the dog, I put my full attention on the man. I should probably leave right now and catch up to Daylin. I hastily found a sturdy foundation on the fence to position my foot and boosted myself over the chipped up fence and ran down the alleyway. The man heard my footsteps and started to yell at me. “Hey! Get back here young man! I want to talk to you!” His voice was very masculine yet scratchy. I kept on running, ignoring everything the man said. “It’s alright, I’ll never see the man ever again.” I thought to myself.
