(PREVIOUSLY ON SWEETNESS OF THE STARS:

All of a sudden, I got to my feet and walked over to Ayano's door and knocked. I won't let these voices harass me. She answered but was surprised to see me approach her like this. "Ayano, I'm sorry!" I pleaded. She stayed still, wanting to do something, but didn't. "I promise I'll never hurt you again." Her small will began to crack slowly, but something was still in her mind, stopping her from accepting it.

But I won't let up. I didn't think I'd have to resort to this, hopefully you won't get mad, Ayano.

I pulled Ayano's waist in, and kissed her.

Time seemed to slow down as her eyes opened wide and her body started to limp on me, then she began to weep silently. )

Chapter 14:

Ayano grew limp and leaned into my body, her legs quivering and her face slowly dropping to my chest. "I'm sorry Nazuni! I'm so sorry." She began to cry even louder as she threw herself into my arms, the ones that previously tried to hurt her. She gripped the collar of my flannel and dug her face into my chest, continuing to cry and get my flannel wet with her painful tears.

I looked down at her perplexed. I'm the one that caused her this emotional trauma, why is she apologizing? "Why? Why are you saying sorry?"

Ayano lifted up her tear stained face, sniffing endlessly. "I knew it wasn't you from the moment you yelled at me, and even then you were sorry for what you did. I didn't want us to be upset with each other. I wanted things to be back to normal, but the girls around me and the ones at my cabin keep telling me otherwise. They don't think we should be together and tell me to stay away from you because of what you did. I was just... so conflicted... I'm sorry for believing them at one point."

I do hope... things would go back to normal.

I softly stroked her silky long hair as she wept on me. I kept my arm around her, 'cause I know how it feels when you know someone's with you, and that arm around her is a reminder that I'd always be with her. Some people may not notice, but an arm around a suffering person makes them cry harder, that's because they know they have someone they can lean on and talk to, so they release all their pain in the form of heart healing tears.

Time went on as she cried in my arms, but I didn't want to let go. I feared if I did, she'd get hurt again. But I had to, at one point.

Eventually, Ayano's cabinmates returned to their cabin, and saw Ayano and I together at the front door. "What are you doing here?! You woman beater!" I turned to the pack of girls, still hugging Ayano tightly. They all went silent when they saw her crying into my arms. But one of the girls held her hands tightly in a fist and violently marched towards me, stomping her foot hard to the ground enough that it starts to thud.

"What did you do to her?!" "Shhh, you're going to scare her," I passively advised her, all the while soothing Ayano by slowly patting her back and holding her tight. The girl rolled her eyes, then got into the cabin with the others

Ayano soon calmed down and wiped the tears off her red cheeks, but we still seemed to not let go of each other. "Here, you must be hungry" I pulled out a chocolate bar from my pocket and handed to Ayano. She grabbed it and held it to her neck. "This... this matches my necklace." Her necklace was a studded chocolate bar necklace, I've never seen Ayano without it on before. It seemed to be something very special to her. She then took pieces from it and ate some of it then gave me pieces as well.

It was sweet, just like the stars. Ayano is my star, always bright and kind, giving out sweet smiles.

"It's okay, Nazuni. I'm fine now. Thanks." She slowly loosened from me and looked back at me, only to say "I love you." Ayano walked to the door and went inside as she softly shut it behind her.
