Danielle -June 2018

"We got into a fight last night..."

"Aw babe, what happened? Do I have to kick his ass for you?" Sarah said as she rubbed my back.

"No, Klay's gonna beat you to it."

"So that's where you were last night."

"Yeah.. I had to tell him. Maybe if he hears it from him, he'll get his act together." I paused as I stared at the kitchen table, which had so many balloons and flowers and chocolate from every argument we would get in.

"How many bouquets did he send you?"

"I don't know." I shrugged. "I haven't talked to him all day yesterday, and all day today." I took out my phone and showed her the messages he sent me.

"Are you gonna go to the game?"

"Yeah, I mean I'm still gonna support him. That would be childish of me not to go. I still love him, but we just need to make things work first."

"Is he playing tonight?"

"No, he's on the DL."

"Down low...?"

"No." I chuckled. "The disabled list. That's where all the injured players go to. They get pulled from playing until their injuries subside."

"Oh." She laughed.

"I hate fighting. I just hate it."

"I know you do, but every couple does it. I mean me and Julian had fights in high school, but look at us. 5 years strong. You just have to make the effort to try to communicate and make thing work."

"You're right." I smiled. "I'm still waiting for little Julian's running around in the future."

"Ah! I love you!" She chuckled and hugged me.

When I got to the stadium, I got this rush of anxiousness throughout my body. I was excited to see him, but I didn't know how he'd react when he'd see me.

I walked over to the field near the batting net. When he saw me, he turned around and had a smile on his face.

"Hey." He said calmly, embracing me in a hug.

"Hey, babe."

He wasn't wearing his uniform, but a blue warm up sweatshirt with his white pants and a baseball cap.

"You ready for this game?"
