Danielle -August 2018

"Good morning Denver! Hope everyone is enjoying this beautiful Monday morning with your favorite radio station, Alice 105.9!"

My eyes shot open as I heard the really annoying radio host broadcast on my alarm.

"This is honestly one of the most nicest days this summer, isn't it BJ?"

"It's not summer anymore, Jaimie. Today a lot of youngin's are heading back to school today."

"Oh shut up." I groaned as I turned of my alarm.

The sun was peeking out of my white lace curtains. Birds were chirping, nothing but the muffled sound of nature filled my bedroom.

I sat at the edge of my bed with the worst headache I've ever had. My eyes feel tired and swollen. I groan and manage to get up and hobble into the kitchen to make some instant oatmeal. It's 7:00. I got 4 hours of sleep, since I spent 3 of those hours crying my eyes out.

Is education really important? Is it worth it to get dressed today? I'd rather stay in bed and get those 3 hours of sleep back. I finish eating my oatmeal and place the dish in the sink, before going back in my room and figuring out what I want to wear today. Lazy hobo day, or presentable day? I look in my vanity mirror to see bloodshot and swollen eyes.

Oh honey, you look disgusting. Definitely a presentable day. You can't go out looking like death has entered your soul.

I quickly rummaged through my drawers until I decided to wear one of the shirts I got at the boutique back in California. I put on a flower print off the shoulder shirt and matched it with a pair of light washed jeans, and threw on some sandals. I then went into the bathroom and put some concealer over my bloodshot, dry eyes and put a light layer of foundation on, before finishing it with a light coat of mascara.

I glanced at the clock on my wall, and it was 7:30. I grabbed my keys and my backpack and slowly made my way to the door before closing it and locking it.

Smile. Just smile. Today is going to be a good day. You have the most amazing boyfriend in the world that is with you. Even though he's not with physically, he's there in your heart. Remember that.

I sighed and adjusted my bag on my shoulder, before walking down the hallway to the main lobby before going outside and starting my car.

Once I got on campus and parked my car, I turned off the ignition and sat there for a few minutes. How I wish I were in California with Trayce. But I guess education is important.

I finally managed to get out of my car, and decided to head to the munchy mart in the University Center to get some snacks and coffee.

"Hey, Dani!" I heard a familiar voice say behind me.
