It was three days until Thanksgiving and April decided she'd bring home Keith to her mother and sister. She was nervous of her mother's reaction because she still hadn't told her and now she's six and a half months along and she's really showing.
Keith carried the bags up to the door as April stood there hesitating to knock on the door. She took a few breaths before she finally decided to knock on the door.
The door swung open revealing April's sister, Camille. "Hey, April! Come here baby mama." She joked, giving her a hug as the came in, Keith closing the door behind him. Only Camille knew about her pregnancy but, it's going to be something when her mother finds out. "And you must be Keith." She said turning her attention to him, also giving him a hug as well.
"Where's mom?" April asked.
"She's upstairs right now taking a phone call but, she should be down any minute." Camille replied.
April looked down sadly, she was nervous at her mother's reaction and there was no way of hiding it, she was showing already. This was going to be a bad night she could already tell.
"While waiting for her, how is college guys?" Camille said changing the subject.
"A hot ass mess.." April mumbled.
"It's great okay. Definitely not what I expected after freshman year." Keith replied hinting that this year was an actual mess. "But, I'm happy I met April." He smiled, wrapping his arm around her. She looked up at him and smiled.
"Aww, y'all are just so cute. I can't." Camille gushed.
"Oh, you're here!" April's mother, Cassidy was heard from the stairs. Once she came to the foyer, the smile she had on her face quickly faded away. "April... Are you..." Her mother was speechless, she couldn't even get the words out.
"Yes, I'm pregnant." April completed the sentence holding her stomach.
"Hmm..." Cassidy nodded then looked at Keith standing there awkwardly. "You must be the young man responsible."
Keith really didn't know how to take it so, he just politely went with it, "Yes, I'm Keith P—"
"How about we all have a seat at the table? It's all set." Cassidy interrupted, after a smile before walking away. Camille, Keith, and April have exchanged all the same look of confusion and fear before following Cassidy to the table.
As they all ate dinner, Cassidy was coming up with questions to torment Keith to get a feel of how he was and along with April as well. "So, Keith, what's your major?" Cassidy questioned.
"Theatre Arts but, I also take business as a minor." Keith answered respectfully.
"Hmm..." Cassidy nodded, "Have any other children?"
"Mom!" April exclaimed.
"No, I'll answer, April," Keith calmly said before striking at Cassidy, "No, I do not have any other children or have any other women pregnant. I actually don't get around like that and it wasn't my intent to get your daughter pregnant but, I love her so much I didn't want to get rid of it because I'm not that kind of man either. I have a great support system behind me that can take care of it while we finish school. Hopefully that answered all of your questions."
