April walked into the door of her apartment that her and Keith share. Along with their two babies, Akeila and Kenneth and April's sister, Amethyst.
Amethyst is April's little half sister who she just found out about when her father came to the baby shower. And it just so happen Amethyst was going to the same college as April and Keith so, they let her move in with them. Their schedules all work out with taking care of the twins because Keith takes the mornings around 8 to 12, Amethyst takes the afternoon 12 to around 3, and April takes the evening, around 3 or so, until everyone finally gets home.
They decided not to have the babies stay at Keith's Aunt Ruby's house because they see if they can get use to juggling parenting and school before letting them stay with her which won't be until they're one years old.
April sat her things down by the door as she walked over to Amethyst who was taking a nap on the couch. Being the big sister she was, April decided to mess with her. She stood in front of the sleeping beauty, and slapped her hard on the forehead.
"Wake up, Mimi." April said semi loudly because she figured the babies were sleep too in the room. Amethyst groaned, holding her head and sitting up.
"Damn, April. There's other ways to wake someone up." She said, swinging her legs over the couch. "What time is it?"
"Time for you to get to class so, get up." April practically picked her up onto her feet.
"You just gave me a headache and you expect me to hurry up?" Amethyst spike slowly going over to pick up her mint Pink book bag off the floor by the door next to April's.
"Yes, I do. You don't wanna be late, fail and dad kick your ass, do you?" April questioned. Amethyst sucked her teeth rolling her eyes.
"No. But, it's not like this is a complete waste of time. He's a bank owner, paying for both our tuitions, and the rent."
"And he won't be if he finds out your failing. Goodbye." Amethyst shook her head and left out, disregarding what April just said.
After the door shut, April went into the twins room and only Akeila was sleep however, Ken was awake playing with his fingers making cute, soft baby noises. April smiled, going to go pick the little boy up. He made more small noises as she rose him up in the air, giving him kisses galore. She loved how they weren't identical and that Ken looked a lot like Keith and Akeila looked a lot like her. It was like little versions of them, something she's always wanted when she met the right man.
Her phone buzzed in her back pocket once. She left it on vibrate for the lectures. April put Ken down back in the crib but, he didn't make much of a fuss, he was an independent baby anyway.
She took her phone out with a text from Keith who was expected to be home in the next hour or so but, she has a text from him, which read:
"Typical," April murmured to herself. She then smiled as she picked up Ken again, "Well, at least I get to spend time with my little handsome boy." She rose him up, drowning him in kisses again. Ken giggled as she did so. She left the room with Ken in her arms and left Akeila to sleep. April sat on the couch and cut on VH1 on the TV and on there was re-runs of Love & Hip Hop Hollywood.
