"Masy I'm a little nervous now. Can you please continue what you had to tell me last night?" Liam asked at lunch time. We were sitting in his car eating the lasagna grammy made, Liam loved her cooking even though he had never met her.
"Alright." I sigh. "Well to put it bluntly, I'm adopted and my parents are like, really young to have a kid as old as me..." I told him about my real mom and left the bit where mom was gone for like ten years.
"Wow. I didn't know. I'm sorry Masy." he hugged me and kissed my forehead.
"Ah it's okay, it doesn't bother me in any way. I'm happy with my life I have now." I smiled, thinking of my parents.
The bell rang in the distance. "We better head to class." I say hopping out.
"Yeah, see you later babe." he pecked my lips before running down to the gym.
I had a study period now and was making my way to the library when I heard whimpering and low hisses. I rounded the corner and there stood a girl being pushed up against the wall with a couple of boys sneering at her.
"Hey!" I called over to them. "Let her go!" I sauntered over, slightly cursing myself for being so nosey with the way one the boys glared at me.
"Yo, stay outta this lil mama." The one with his hands pushed up against the girls shoulders growled, his attention turned back to the girl on the wall. "You wait." he let go and she slid down the wall silently sobbing.
What the hell?
"Hey, are you okay?" I say kneeling next to her.
She had chocolate coloured skin and the prettiest light brown eyes that were a little puffy and red from crying and thick curly raven hair.
"Why do you care?" she snapped, sniffing and looking away from me.
"Hey I'm just trying to help. What's your name?"
"Cassidy." she sniffed.
"I haven't seen you around before, you new here?" I sit next to her.
She nodded. "Been here a couple days."
"What do you have now?"
"Study." she mumbled.
"Me too. Come with me, here." I picked up scattered papers and books off the ground and handed them to her.
She got up and followed behind me. "Thanks." I heard her whisper.
"No problem." I opened the library door and walked through to the empty study area, the librarian waved from her office at me and smiled, she was on her lunch break. I smiled and waved back.
Cassidy sat on a single desk, I rolled my eyes. "Are you gonna sit there all by yourself and be sad in that corner? Nah girl, come sit with me." I waved her over to me.
She gave me a weak smile and brought her stuff over to my desk. "That's better." I smile at her.
We got talking, well whispering really we were supposedly "studying" and I learned that she is half Latino and half black.
*A/N; I'm sorry if saying 'half black' offends anyone! :o If it does then please tell me if it makes y'all feel uncomfortable, I'll take it down.*
Her dad had took Callium and left her and her mom. Cassidy's mom got on the fry every chance she got. I could totally relate to her there and brought strange guys home nearly every night.
I never intended for the discussion to get that deep but she didn't mind. Apparently the boy who had her pinned is her older brother Callium, the other guy is his buddy Mason. I saw them around school sometime.
