"Cassi who did this?" I growled at Cassidy, this was the third time I had asked her this. It was lunch time but I came back and found she had fully healed and was awake, also I was falling in the habit of calling her Cassi.
"I honestly don't know Masy, the last thing I saw were neon pink Nikes." Cassidy sniffed.
I sighed and sat on the bed next to her. "I'm sorry."
"That's aight." she shrugged, wiping away the tears.
"Want me to bring all your work here? I'll tell the nurse Carmen that'll you'll be in here for the rest of the day."
"Will you do that? For me?" her dark brown eyes were surprised.
"Yeah." I shrugged. "Anything for a friend." I smiled at her.
"Thanks again girl." she smiled.
"Alright, I'll go get them now." I patted her knee and walked out, telling Carmen what I told Cassi.
"You know, your lover boy is a mess over in the courtyard looking for you." A low familiar voice said behind me.
"Ahh!" I yelped and swung my hand back and catching nothing but air.
"Ha! Missed me." The voice taunted.
"Morgan!" I hissed. "What have I told you about freakin' me out like that huh?"
"What? It's funny." he defended himself.
"What do you want?" I huffed and continued walking to Cassidy's classes.
"Came looking for you coz I couldn't take hearing your boyfriend whine and fidget like a girl." he muttered.
I laughed. "Give him a break! He's meeting my parents and family, afterall they aren't what you'd expect." I pouted and couldn't help but smile at how nervous Morgan made Liam sound.
We were coming back to Carmen's office when a couple of dark skinned girls caught my attention. They both snickered evilly at something one of them had on their phone, a video presumably. My eyes zeroed in on a pair of bright neon pink Nike shoes. I tried not to make it too obvious that I was staring when I passed by but I couldn't help but notice the slight red/brownish smudges on the tip of both shoes and a few tiny spots.
Drying bits of blood.
Once inside Cassidy's room, I yank her out to the main door. "I want you to look and take a really good look at the girl with pink shoes." I barked the order in a hushed tone and pointed to the corner of the door.
She peeked around it and I heard her sigh sadly. "It was them."
"Are you sure?"
"Positive. I remember their voices when they were kicking and smashing me up. The one in the black Vans is Nicki and the girl with the pink Nikes is Teal. They're Callium's friends." she looked away.
"Okay, Morgan you wait here with Cassidy." I say and zip away before both of them can say anything.
"Hey!" I call the two girls, I feel like cowering or turning and running away but I can't since I now have the two girls attention.
'Good one!' I scold myself.
"What you want white girl?" Black Vans hissed.
"Who gives you the right to beat someone up!" I hissed back, getting straight to the point.
The girls' faces turned defensive. "Now I hope you got shit to back up what you just said white girl." Pink Nikes took a step towards me.
"I have proof. Why are your shoes stained a bloody colour? Have you recently kicked someones face in repeatedly?" I point to the tip of her toes. Black Vans steps forward and I now notice that she is a lot bigger than myself and pink Nikes.
