It was fate after all

BETTY'S POV
Me and Jughead recently called quits on our relationship. I guess long distance wasn't for us, I can still remember that day as if it were yesterday.

Jughead went to college in Riverdale and I left for New York. After a while of texting a calling we realized that long distance wasn't our thing. We decided to still be friends and that if it was fate someday we would get back together.

  I guess it wasn't fate.

  Today starts Christmas break and I'm going to Riverdale to see my family and I'm praying that I bump into Jughead. I get off the plane and go to the first place I can think of, Pop's. As I was walking to Pop's I saw Jughead and I got exited.

  The excitement quickly went away as soon as I realized he was with a girl. I go in and order what I would always have. I was about to leave when I heard Jughead call my name.

  " Hey Betty, since when are you back I'm town?" Betty. The sound of that coming out of him mouth hurt me a lot, more than I would've liked it to hurt.

  "I just got here today." I reply to his question. After a while of no one saying anything I heard a girls voice ask something.

  "Hey babe. Who's this." She asks pointing at me. She was pretty, prettier than me so I didn't blame Jug for falling for her. Jughead introduced her as his girlfriend and that hit me like a truck. Girlfriend a word he used to call me. I didn't want them to see me cry so I said bye and ran out of there, not caring if they saw me.

  I had gotten an apartment because I planned on staying here but I don't think that will work out I can't bare the thought of seeing Jughead with another girl.

  I was still hurt from the break up. I didn't show it but I was, and I hated the fact that he called someone else 'babe' .

A few days later I got invited over to Jughead's house because he had an important announcement. I really regret saying yes but I said it and now I have to go over in two days.

~Time skip, day of the party~
  I got ready really fast, I didn't do much but I just wanted to get the day over with. I get to the house and I see a bunch of people I didn't know. Archie and Veronica weren't in town and I guess we all lost touch when we went to different colleges.

I got into my car and drove to Jughead's house.

When I got there you could hear the music from outside and it looked somewhat fancy, 'was that their house?' I asked myself. I prepared myself for it, and I told myself that I wasn't going to cry no matter what they said.

JUGHEAD'S POV
When me and Betty broke up I was said for a few days but then after like 5 months I found someone. We started dating and I 'fell in love' with her. Something always stood out to me about her, she wasn't Betty.

That night that I saw Betty walk into Pop's memories came back. I wanted to hug her and kiss her but I couldn't. The one reason was because I was engaged, to be honest I don't know why I asked her to marry me and yes I know that's shitty of me.

I saw Betty walk into my house the day of the party. She looked beautiful I wanted to say something but I couldn't. The party was so that we could announce that we were getting married but I couldn't bring myself to do it.

I brought my fiancé, Kayla to an empty room to tell her.

"I'm sorry but we can't do this. I can't marry someone when I'm in love with another person". She was completely understanding. I gave her one last hug and then I went to go find Betty. She caught my eye when I saw her going towards the door.

She was about to get into her car but I called her name.

"Betty! Wait" I called out. She stopped and she looked at me. I could see that she was crying.

  "You don't have to tell me I already know. And  even though I still love you I'm very happy your  getting married." She said crying.

  "No Betty, I ended things with her because I still love you!" I said a little too loud.

  Before she had time to process what had happened I kissed her, god I had missed them so much.

3RD PERSON POV
  "Betty I love you and only you" the dark haired boy said.

  "Jug I love you too"

And they kissed again, a kiss that they both had been dreading since they saw each other again.

I guess it was fate after all.
