Chapter 3: Talks

Third person POV

Max got woken up by her parents fighting again because of some random shit. She tried everything to block out the yelling but it was no use. She thought she might want to hang out with the boys but she didn't feel like putting up with their dumbass shit today she was too over it. The only other person she could think of to hang out with was El. She didn't seem to like her though but it was worth a shot. She went ahead and got ready. She went downstairs to her parents still yelling, she ignored it and went to the phone. Billy was standing at the phone smoking.

"Move dickwad"

"Why should I"

"Just move dumbass" She pushed him out of the way so she could get to the phone.

"You're lucky I'm in a good mood today"

"Well but still don't forget what I can do to you" That seemed to shut him up pretty good. He walked away probably going to call some slut but she didn't even care at this point. She picked up the phonebook and searched for her number. She dialed the numbers and waited for someone to pick up.

El woke up and got ready for the day. As she was eating her waffles she heard the phone ring but hopper got to it before she could. Hopper walked over to the phone and picked it up.

"Who is this and what do you want"

"Hey hop, is El there"

"I ask again, who is this" He asked annoyed. He heard an grunt from the other end of the line.

"It's max"

"How did you get this number?"

"It's called a phonebook"

"Hm, what do you want to talk to El about anyway"

"That's none of your business"

"I think it is but I could always just hang up"

"UGH, I don't want to hang out with any of those dumbass boys so I wanted to see if she wanted to hang out"

"EL, PHONE!" Hopper shouted from the other room

"COMING!" she shouted back

"It's that max girl" He said handing the phone to El then walking away. El grabbed the phone and brought it up to her ear.

"Hey max"

"Hey, I was wondering if you wanted to hang out today'

"U-um sure, what do you want to do?"

"We could go to the mall" El kind of knew what that was but I guess she would find out exactly what it is when she gets there, if hopper will let her.

"Hold on, let me ask" El covered the talking part of the phone with her hand and yelled out to hopper.

"Hey hop!"

"Yeah kid?"

"Could I go to the mall with Max?" Hopper contemplated this for a minute.

"Sure but be very very careful"

"Thanks Hop!" El exclaimed. She uncovered the phone and brought it back up to her ear.

"Yeah, I can go"

"Cool! I'll come over now and we could walk there? It isn't very far"

"Sure, see you then"
