Being a Malfoy came with its pros and cons. Goldie had much knowledge on this, seeing as she was Draco's twin sister. The Malfoy family had a bad reputation, for doing things that most people would call wrong or evil.
Goldie sometimes hated being a Malfoy, but she couldn't simply tell anyone. Sure, she had friends, but they were all Slytherins and most of them talked behind their backs about her.
All Goldie wished for was just for everyone to see her for who she truly was and not some delinquent.
Goldie trudged to the Great Hall for lunch, only to hear a group of kids whispering and backing away from her as she walked. A frown formed upon the girl's face.
Her pace quickened as she saw the girls' restroom. She rushed into the restroom and leant against the tile wall. Goldie let out a sigh, which quickly led to tears pouring out of her blue eyes.
She was so fed up with people judging her while not even talking to her once.
Goldie realized that she had lost track of time crying to herself when she heard the large crowd of students chattering. She sighed knowing that lunch was over.
Goldie wiped her tears away and sniffled when someone walked in.
"Umm....hello?" A boy's voice echoed throughout the restroom.
Goldie blushed and quickly wiped away the excess tears off her face. "You're not supposed to be in here!" She exclaimed, letting out a small sniffle after.
"I-I know, but I heard you crying." The boy, who she now realized was Harry Potter, said as he glanced around at the empty stalls.
Goldie nodded slowly as she felt her cheeks heat up. "Right, I was just a little upset about an exam is all." She lied straight through her teeth.
Harry gave a small smile but it soon disappeared. "I heard a few of the students talking about you, and I'm assuming that you knew that already." He said hesitantly, not wanting to make the girl feel any worse.
Goldie frowned and looked down at her feet. "Oh, you heard." She said sadly. "Do you think I'm a bad person because I'm a Malfoy?" She blurted out, wanting an answer right then and there.
Harry was a bit taken back. Sure, he disliked the Malfoys', but he couldn't judge the girl who was all but nice and polite to whoever she met.
"No, I don't think so." He replied honestly, not thinking that she was anything like her parents or brother.
A smile erupted onto Goldie's face. "Do you think you could introduce me to your friends? I've heard so many..." Her rambling session was cut short by Harry adding his thoughts.
"Yeah, how about we meet you at the tree by the lake after classes?" He suggested, already planning for Hermione and Ron to meet the misunderstood girl.
Goldie nodded excitedly and smiled. "Of course, that sounds great." She replied.
After the conversation between Harry and herself, Goldie was actually looking forward to the day unlike most others where she dreaded the day.
Once all of her classes ended and Goldie was free from school work, she went to meet up with Harry and the others.
"Hey Goldie!" Harry gave the girl a welcoming smile and waved softly. Goldie could only imagine what people were thinking as she was breaking the stereotype by being a Slytherin and going to hang out with some Gryffindors.
She smiled anyways and waved at the trio. "Hey you guys." Goldie approached them and gave a small smile.
Ron and Hermione returned the gestures and they all took a seat on the soft patch of grass under the large oak tree.
After that day, Goldie became an extremely close friend to the trio. She loved every minute of being with them, especially Ron, although she'd never admit it.
Goldie just couldn't seem to be able to get her mind off of the freckled face boy with fiery red hair. She started to notice that whenever she was around him, her hands would get all clammy and her heartbeat increased.
Goldie sighed, knowing that she would never have a chance with the humorous boy.
"Goldie? You still there?" Ron had asked the girl who zoned out in Charms class.
Goldie snapped out of her thoughts of the carrot head beside her. "What? Oh, yeah, sorry." She said sheepishly, a blush creeping to her cheeks.
Ron smiled and let out a soft laugh. "So, what were you thinking about?" He asked her curiously. Once Ron got to know the girl, he picked up on a few things that she had a habit of doing. Like, how she would bite her bottom lip whenever she was confused or puzzled, or when she would let out a small snort whenever she thought something was absolutely hilarious. One thing that really interests the boy was how she would space out and block the world around her out so that she could daydream and think of things.
He felt himself falling for the girl, although he'd never admit it and even if he did, he doubted that she'd feel the same way.
"Oh, nothing." Goldie lied, she could never confess her daydreams, well, at least not to Ron; the main topic of all of her dreams.
Ron frowned playfully. "You're lying." He said truthfully.
"Am not!" She tried to say seriously, but let out a small laugh.
Ron smirked. "Yes you are. I can tell because start to fiddle with your thumbs and your voice gets high pitched." He admitted, hoping that he didn't sound like some creep for noticing all of those things.
Goldie blushed, realizing that he knew that she was lying. "Well, I can't tell you about it now. Maybe our free period?" She asked, building up enough courage to explain her feelings for him.
"Meet you there." He said before the class was dismissed.
Once Goldie's free period arrived, she rushed to her and Ron's favorite place to hang out, the large oak tree where they first met.
Goldie saw a blotch of orange in the distance. She smiled to herself, knowing that was Ron, sitting up against the tree, waiting.
Goldie jogged towards him. "Hey." She said softly and sat down next to him.
"Sup." he teplied, pretending to sound cool. This caused Goldie to giggle softly and hit the boy on his arm.
"So, you gonna tell me about your daydream?" Ron then asked, intrigued in the topic.
Goldie nodded, butterflies swarmed her stomach. "Okay, well, I was just daydreaming about us." She said.
"Huh? Like Harry, Hermi-" Ron was cut off.
"No, not everyone. Just me and you. That's all." She said, looking down at her palms.
Ron felt nervous. "Like, joking around or..." He didn't know what to say or think.
"No." Goldie answered. "Okay, I'm just gong to say it. Ron, I like you." She said nervously, her cheeks becoming the darkest shade of red that the boy had ever seen.
Ron smiled. "Really? I didn't think that you liked me to be completely honest." He admitted truthfully.
"How could I not?" She said softly.
Ron shrugged and decided that it was time. He had been waiting for this moment for quite a while now.
Ron grabbed her face softly and turned it towards his own. He slowly leant in and placed his lips onto her soft, pink ones.
Goldie felt fireworks and tingles everywhere. She kissed back slowly, reciprocating the passion in it.
They pulled away, catching their breaths. Ron smiled at the girl, having a feeling that she was perfect for him.
Goldie grinned and thought of what she would have done without this boy in her life. He didn't care if she was a Malfoy or not. Ron saw Goldie for who she really was, and that's all that mattered.
