She took a deep breath, and finally looked at me in the eyes.

"The day you left..."

Each word that came out of her lips made my heart skip a beat.

Taehyung didn't even hang up but the call was dropped because of the signal.

"It hasn't been an hour but I already miss her."

"He was so scared that he had to suffer like that for the next ten years," Mrs. Kim was at the verge of crying.

It was too late. Too late for me to realize that I loved him. I was halfway through my career. Since then he became my daily dose of inspiration to keep going because I know there will be a Taehyung waiting for me.

She continued; "At daytime, he seems to be okay, just the normal Taehyung, so I thought everythig was fine.. But it turns out, I was completely wrong."

I'm sorry.

"Every night, he cries himself to sleep. It was an unending cycle since you left, but I was too late to realize."

I'm sorry you had to go through that.

I'm sorry I left.

I'm sorry I left you.

"One time, I was cleaning his room, when I found sleeping pills in one of his drawers," she frustratedly sighed.

I couldn't believe my own ears.

He really.. did that?

The Taehyung who used to be all bubbly and cheerful ... did that?

Mrs. Kim was cleaning Taehyung's room, alone back in their house in Daegu. Taehyung had gone back to Daegu after Saerin left. He couldn't bear to be alone in the apartment where he used to live with her.

While she was cleaning, she found a book which was lost under Taehyung's bed.

Taehyung's mother opened the drawer, placing the book inside, but to her surprise, a white bottle of medicine slipped out.

Out of curiosity, she picked it up, knowing that his son never took any type of medicine as far as she's concerned. "Temazepam."

It was a medicine used to treat insomnia.

"Eversince I found that, I knew something was really wrong. I didn't think my Taehyung would be so devastated when his childhood friend left... when you left."

I couldn't say a word. I was completely shocked, but my heart was secretly in hope to begin again now that I'm here.

I let her continue.

"Another normal day, I was at work.. I really thought it was a normal day — until I got a call from the hospital."

Two hearts were unknowingly connected — despite being miles apart.

That was before.

But when they were side to side, face to face.. His heart beated for someone else.
