XVI. Switch Part 1

Phew! Trying to get over the writer's block, took me three days to finish this little chapter! Grabe...So anyways, here's another emotional chapter, I personally find it cute :) We Remain by Christina Aguilera and Jacquie Lee on the media box. Ganda ng version na yan, bagay kay Rachel at Jade! Okay, tama na! Pasok, Chapter 16!

***Rachel's POV***

"What happened, Rachel?" Tanong sa akin ni Nurse Andrew nang mai-ayos na si Dawn sa bed. Ano ba'ng nangyayari sa babaeng 'to? 

"Hindi ko alam, Nurse Andrew. Hindi na siya mukhang okay paggising pa lang niya, pero pinilit niya pa ring bumangon para pumasok. Tapos nung nasa Cafeteria kami, she was acting really weird... Na parang may inaabangan siyang tao or something. Lingon siya ng lingon sa paligid tapos napansin ko na lang na pinag-papawisan na siya tapos bigla na lang siyang nahilo." 

I sat on the chair in front of Nurse Andrew's table. Hindi ko kayang makitang ganyan si Dawn. I was used to seeing her as a tough girl, hindi ganito. Nurse Andrew took his medical things and checked on her. "Her blood pressure's low and her heart rate is high. Mataas din ang lagnat niya at malalim ang paghinga niya."

"Nurse Andrew, ano po ba'ng nangyayari sa kanya? Magiging okay lang ba siya?"

"I can't tell for now, Rachel. I need to take her to the hospital for further check up. Excuse me, I'll just call the hospital." He dialled the phone and contacted the hospital. I stood up and walked towards my roommate. 

Para siyang nag-didiliryo. Kagabi, okay naman siya ah? Nagbibiruan pa kami kagabi tapos biglang ganito na siya ngayon. May existing illness ba siya? I held her hand and smiled at her, "Dawn, magiging okay ka rin. You're a strong person, kaya mo yan." I assured her. Tama, may pinag-dadaanan lang talaga siya.

Tumango siya at nagulat ako nang bigla siyang magsi-sigaw. Nabitawan ko ang kamay niya at agad lumapit si Nurse Andrew sa amin. "Lumayo ka muna, Rachel." I followed his order and I stepped back. Para siyang takot na takot, parang may nakikita siya at naririnig na siya lang ang aware. Natatakot ako sa nangyayari sa kanya. Nakita kong may itinusok si Nurse Andrew sa kanya at ilang segundo lang ay kumalma na si Dawn.

I held back the tears from falling. I excused myself and went out of the Clinic. Hindi naman siya pababayaan ni Nurse Andrew. 

Pumasok na ako sa klase at hindi muna inisip si Dawn. That girl's really strange, hanggang ngayon, hindi ko pa rin ma-gets kung anong klaseng tao siya. Sana noon pa siya lumipat sa school na 'to, para mas nakilala ko siya. Ngayon, we only have less than three months to know each other and bond. Gusto ko talaga siyang maging kaibigan. Para bago man lang ako grumaduate may kaibigan akong matatawag. The bell rang and the students settled themselves on their seats.

Pumasok na si Mr. Co, ang class adviser namin at English teacher. "Good morning, class!" Bati nito sa klase. Sumagot naman kami sa kanya at agad tumahimik. "Please bring out your notes from yesterday's discussion." Sumunod naman kami at saka siya nag-tanong, "So yesterday, we talked about some of the ways on how we can write a good composition. Can someone enumerate those again?" Tumingin siya sa klase at tinawag ang kaklase naming si Jack.

"Lead with your main idea. Vary the length of your sentences. Put key words and ideas at the beginning or end of a sentence. Vary sentence types and structures. Use active verbs. Use specific nouns and verbs. Cut the clutter. Read aloud when you revise. Actively edit and proofread. Use a dictionary." Sunod-sunod na binasa lang nito ang nakasulat sa notebook niya at agad na umupo.
