Cowritten with ChubWriter667 !!! I hope you all like it!! Also Paul apparently used to try and kill frogs to toughen him up for cadets or army or something.John went to Paul's house to hang out with him, but his dad said he was in the woods. He found that odd for Paul, a pretty feminine boy, to be there. He snickered at the thought because one time Paul complained about getting his shoes dirty. He entered the woods and saw nothing weird, but then he saw Paul over a tree stump with a dagger.
Looking over, John was shocked as he saw Paul about to bring it down on a small frog. "Paul what are you doing?!" John shouted, making Paul miss the frog and stab the stump instead. "Aw John, now it got away!"
"Well why were you about to kill that poor frog?"
"Because I'm weak! If I'm going to be enrolled into the military I need to see death or I'm not going to be able to handle it an-"
"That's not a reason to kill a frog!" John said, making Paul flinch. B-But-"
"No buts McCartney!"
"How else will I be a man then?!" Paul growled.
"Killing something makes you a bad man. I'm sure even those soldiers feel awful when they see death, they just don't want to show it. Being scared or not wanting things dead doesn't make you any less of a man."
Paul just shifted his eyes around. He didn't have anything else to say, he felt ashamed of himself. He felt so ashamed that he didn't notice tears in his eyes. "Wow, you're trying to use the fake tears on me, I know you Paul." John said. But Paul's tears were real.
When Paul was sobbing hard, John then knew he wasn't faking. "Oh.. I'm so sorry I yelled Paul.. But don't feel bad, you didn't kill anything now."
"But I almost did.. I almost took a life for selfish reasons.."
"You learnt to not kill from this, so you learnt that killing is bad."
"But... But... I killed frogs though... I'm a monster..." Paul said falling on his knees and sobbing harder. "Paul, please stop, I mean what you did was horrible-" John said before Paul got up and ran off farther in the woods.
"Paul? Paul! I better make sure he doesn't get hurt." John thought as he ran off after his friend. "Where could he be? Could George or Ringo know where he is?"
Meanwhile while picking some berries, George felt someone bump into him. "Paul? What's wrong?"
"I-I can't say, but I-I have to go." Paul said, seeming stressed as he ran off. John saw George. "Hey, uh, George have you seen Paul?"
"Yeah, he ran off that way." George said, pointing towards the direction Paul went.
"Thanks! I best be off now before he gets too far off."
"Wait! I want to come with you, Paul and I are next door neighbors after all." George called as he followed John on the trail of their missing friend.
Paul had made it to a hut surrounded by a chain-link fence, which had several headless frogs in it. "I'm sorry I killed all of you... I'm so selfish... B-But I'll scarifies myself for forgiveness..." He said placing the dagger he had near his heart, planning on stabbing himself through the chest.
Wait!!" John shouted as he knocked the dagger away from him. "Paul, you don't need to do this to yourself."
"But look at what I did!! I killed all these frogs and all for what?! Thinking I'd need to be manly!" Paul yelled, trying to reach for his dagger. George saw this and quickly stopped him.
"Paulie, you don't have to do this.. What you did was wrong, but things will get better. You won't murder any more frogs after this day."
Paul just started crying out of frustration and self pity. "I-I-I'm sorry..." He said as he laid in a pile of leaves. John just laid next to him and hugged him. "Sh... It's okay..." The older boy said calmly, stroking his hair to keep him calm.
"I can't believe I did all this.." Paul sniffled.
"But it's all over now. We don't need to worry about killing anymore." John assured to him. "We can make sure nothing else is killed here, become the new forest protectors if you will."
"O-Okay..." Paul said, nuzzling his face into John's chest softly. John placed a hand on his younger friend and sighed. "Come on, let's stand up and walk around. Don't want tick biting you beauti- I mean nice body." The oldest of them said helping Paul to his feet.
"Aw, I'll be alright John, I haven't seen any ticks around here." Paul giggled as he followed him home.
John meanwhile was happy that he managed to cheer Paul up. "You coming along George? We can use the company here." Paul asked.
"Sure! Got nothing better to do until dinner time."
"George? I want to spend some time with Paul alone first. You can come in later."
"Aw okay." George replied as he went back to the berry bushes
"Why don't you want him to come along?" Paul asked.
"Because I have something very important to tell you." John replied, smiling softly.
"Oh? What's there to say that you want it to be private?"
"Well.. I love you Paulie.. I really do." John confessed. "Ever since we met. Do you love me too?"
Paul had to think. "Yes, Johnny. I love you too." he said before kissing John's cheek softly. John smiled and took Paul's hand and held it.
"And later we can marry when we get older together!"
"Aww, you really think so?" Paul giggled.
"I know so." John said. When they reached the house, Paul let go of John's hand. "Well, see you tomorrow." John said.
"Why not come in with me? I know a way to my room without waking anyone up! And I'm sure Dad and Mike won't mind the company." Paul offered, leading John to his room. "Nice place. And nice room too." John smiled as he got into bed with Paul.
John smiled and Paul hugged him softly, in turn John hugged him back and kissed Paul softly on the lips. "I love you Paulie. I really do."
"I really love too." Paul said, chuckling lightly. Then Paul kissed John's cheek and smiled. The two spent the whole night cuddling and dozing away. But they didn't seem to notice the little frog silhouettes smiling from the window.
