Elqenna
My butts were glued to the couch while my foot rested comfortably on the table. I felt too lazy to do anything. When I heard the buzzer, I didn't bother standing up to open the door for the visitor. It must be Raphie anyway. She has full access to our house.
"Seraphine, you promised to be here in five minutes." I can't help but roll my eyeballs. Ayoko kasi talaga ng pinaghihintay. "Wow. You arrived after two hours and five minutes. You're the best friend in the world," I went on complaining with fluency in sarcasm.
"I'm sorry. I didn't anticipate the traffic. I really hate this country,"she replied after rolling her eyes. "Wait, what are you doing?" natatarantang tanong niya nang makita ang wine glass na hawak-hawak ko. "What are you drinking? Naglalasing ka, tanghaling tapat? Are you serious?"
"I wish I have no alcohol allergies so I can get drunk without fooling myself with water in a wine glass,"I whined dramatically. "I want to die... like right now."
"So it's really true huh? You have eventually broken up with Raven. Is it for real this time?"
"Wow. Expecting ka talagang maghihiwalay kami?" Nginiwian ko siya saka tiningnan ng matalim.
"Oo naman. Walang araw na 'di kayo nag-aaway. Ang toxic na ng relationship niyo." Umiling-iling pa siya, tila pinapamukha sa'king ang tanga ko dahil ang tagal naming naghiwalay ni Raven. "By the way, stop saying you want to die right now because you haven't done yet everything you confessed in your diary when you were sixteen."
Those sixteen things I have written when I was sixteen were just silly stuff though. Tsk. Why does she still care about those? Gosh, we are now adults! And besides, I have forgotten about them. Ah, well—maybe, some.
"Ugh. You're not helping, Seraphine!"
"You're annoying. Who's Seraphine!?"
Yep. She hates to be called that way. She should hate her mom and not me. Duh.
"Come on, crazy lady! Get up. Get your butt off the couch! Come on! Let's bring the mall to the house!" she squealed excitedly.
"No. I don't have the mood to go shopping."
"I do," she quickly answered, smirking to annoy me on purpose.
"You go then. You want my credit card?"I offered lazily.
"You're a buzzkill. You're boring. You're fraking boring, period."
"Fine. We'll go but I won't shop. Lalabas lang ako dahil tatlong araw na akong nagkulong rito,"I agreed upon realizing the fact that I have been keeping up with this boredom for three long days!
How did I manage to do that? Geez, sometimes, I really can't believe myself.
"Tita Connie called though," Raphie narrated while she seated beside me while I drove my car. "Your parents are wondering why you're not picking up your phone."
"I'm too tired to talk. I'm busy planning how to get Raven back and other related stuff that are so important to me right now."
"I didn't hear that, Elqenna! You didn't just say you planned getting your immature boyfriend back, did you?!"
"Duh. That is exactly what I just said. And, it's ex-boyfriend," I corrected, grinning at her. "Oh," I gasped. "Well, you've actually used the right word since I'm getting him back anyway."
"Ano'ng utak ba meron ka, Elqenna? Wake up, you are Elqenna Blair Paige. Ba't ka naghahabol ng lalaki? You can get everything. You can even buy the world if you want."
