Be A Soldier

"So where we be headed?" Ravensight asked as I made him steer the ship. "I can't really explain, I've never been there... I know it exists and I have a huge feeling that where we're headed is where it's located..." I mumbled softly as I stared at the waters.

"So we're just going nowhere?" I heard James ask in annoyance. When I spun around I saw him pale and tense. "I know this place exists. I dreamed about it after I saw my mom," I hissed and he blinked. "Grimoire....?" he asked softly and I growled.

"No! My biological mom you idiot! My mom is Selene!" I felt both Ravensight and James tense up. "W-Wait, yer related to Selene...? The m-moon goddess...?" Ravensight stuttered and I hissed softly. "Yes, after I met her in my dream, I entered a new one. A garden of sorts..."

"Could it be...?"

"What?"

"Luna, ye saw the Moon Garden, it be an ancient place that only ancient legends may enter," Ravensight explained and I tensed.

"Ahem," James said loudly, "I know where it is..."

"Land ho!" someone cried and I sat up from my hammock. From complete exhaustion and being a grumpy shark, dad's words, not mine, I had decided to take a nap to pass time. What in... I thought to myself as I crawled out of the hammock, I could've sworn that Ravensight made his ship too much like a pirate's.

"What is going on...?" I mumbled as I crawled out from below deck. "We're here," I heard James reply. Already? I pondered but shrugged it off, headed to the ships steering wheel thingy. But when I got there, no one was steering and within sight was a large, tropical, island. It was more exotic and appealing than my father's.

"Interesting sight, ain't it?" I jumped and turned around to see Ravensight smiling at me, and I could almost see... Him blushing? "Sure..." I muttered, ignoring the possible sight as I turned and leaned against the railing.

"With all it's blues and greens... Even some yellows. It be even a better sight then what legends be sayin' it be all so extraordinary..." he said softly, staring out at the island. With a bit of mischief, I spoke teasingly, "When did you get so smart?" and I heard him chuckle.

"Back in me old home, we'd be trained to be soldiers in ways at childhood... We couldn't cry, we couldn't shout in rage, we couldn't even laugh... We be just... Empty soldiers... Being prepared for war at a young age," he muttered softly. When I put my hand on his shoulder, he looked over at me and I smiled at him, "I'm glad you told me that, Ravensight... I'm sorry that you had a childhood like that..." I spoke softly and I saw a clear as day blush appearing on his face.

So he does have feelings for you... I thought but brushed it off. It was okay if he liked me, but he has to appreciate if I don't feel the same way. "...Thanks..." he said softly, looking away as if my simple sentence meant the world. "That's what friends are for," I smiled and he nodded, smiling back at me.  When I saw his smile, for a moment I felt my heart skip a beat. The pirate just did that to me, one moment we're best friends then the next... I just felt... Odd.

Nonetheless, we have a mission. Paying a visit to the Sun, and I couldn't fail this task. I must bring peace into night and day, or may all the zodiacs and stars shred me into oblivion. I know it's absurd, but I must and will bring peace between the two cycles. If I fail, I can just never forgive myself...

I have to be a soldier.
