Jaden: 'Allo governors, Jaden here. Now, this here is a special list. Before doing this, I was watching The Aura Guardian do this same thing on his channel and I thought I might show you all my opinion on every starter. I will rank them using this template below I got off the internet to show my starter tiers.

Jaden: And just like in The Aura Guardian's video, the more I like it, the more it is closer to the left and the picture represents the whole evolutionary line

Jaden: And just like in The Aura Guardian's video, the more I like it, the more it is closer to the left and the picture represents the whole evolutionary line. Also, keep in mind, this is my own opinion. If your favourite starter doesn't appear on a high tier, it is ok if you disagree, just don't spam me. And lastly, the things I will take into account is how it looks, the learnset, stats, my competitive use and my usage through a game play. But with that being said, here is my list.

But with that being said, here is my list

F Tier

Meganium: The reason why this starter is my least favourite is because I never really liked it growing up. When I first saw the Johto region, the Meganium line was never at my interest. Its design isn't really that good and it also has a learnset that is just absolute trash. Stat wise, the only real redeeming thing is its defense and special defense and that's it. Another thing is when I looked at all the gym leaders in the 2nd Generation, not one of them gave this line the upper hand. Plus, whenever I train up Pokemon to be in peak condition for wifi battles, I usually level it up to level 60 max unless I want a specific move. When I trained up Meganium, I stopped at 53. That's how much care I show to it.

Emboar: Now, to be honest, I did find Tepig to be cute. But once it evolved into Pignite, I thought it will look even worse because Pignite looks strange. While Emboar does look much better and has an awesome shiny though, it doesn't really have that many upsides to it. When it comes to stats, it is a very slow glass cannon and wouldn't last too long in competitive. It is ok in its original game and it does learn many good moves. Though, the one thing that is weird about its learnset is the fact that it can learn Scald. Other than that, Emboar isn't that good.

D Tier

Empoleon: While this Pokemon does have a more eye-catching design, that's really all there is to it. It only does decently in its game in my opinion and it has a fairly decent moveset. I don't really use it that much in competitive mainly because it dies a bit too quickly and one physical attack just demolishes it due to it having such a low defense stat. Overall, a good designed Pokemon that doesn't have that many redeeming qualities.
