Things I want in D/P Remakes and things I don't want

Jaden: 'Allo governors, Jaden here. Now, with the announcement of the remakes to Pokemon Diamond and Pearl, many fans are expecting certain things. So far, the whole chibi art style has been a controversial thing.

Thundrr: I still don't understand why anyone is making a faff about it. It's clearly better than ORAS.

Jaden: True. Now today, I'm doing something a little bit different. Rather than doing a top 10, I'm going to do a 5 v 5. So this is my list for 5 things I want in the remakes and 5 that I don't.

Number 5 (Want)

Jaden: One of the things that I want in the new games is easier access to certain Pokemon. One of the problems that Diamond and Pearl faced was the fact that their Pokedex was limited. There was a small selection of certain types and some of the newer Pokemon couldn't be obtained until postgame.

Thundrr: I agree, with the better technology, we should be able to catch lots more Pokemon that are normally available.

Jaden: I do think that this won't be much of a problem considering the fact that Porygon Z was shown in the trailers and that wasn't in Diamond and Pearl. but was in Platinum.

Thundrr: True.

Number 5 (Don't Want)

Jaden: This one I don't want and many also don't want and that is a slow pace. However, I highly doubt that because they got rid of that in Black and White.

Thundrr: It's very unlikely that they are going to make it slow. Imagine going up against a Level 100 Blissey.

Number 4 (Want)

Jaden: This one I'm sure a lot of people want and that is a Battle Frontier. The Battle Frontier was one of the most popular postgame additions and it was really fun to play on. A lot of people enjoyed the one in Platinum because it was a really good throwback to Ruby and Sapphire.

Thundrr: So GameFreak, please don't do an ORAS again.

Jaden: We are really giving ORAS a bunch of shiz aren't we?

Thundrr: Yeah.

Number 4 (Don't Want)

Jaden: This one again is something that I don't think might be brought back but a lot of people don't want. That is HMs, the thing that many people hated until its removal in Gen 6.

Thundrr: I hope they add new features to cross these obstacles because Diamond, Pearl and Platinum needed 5 HMs to go through the Victory Road.

Jaden: We'll have to see. And as an added bonus cause this kind of relates, I don't want TMs breaking.

Thundrr: That should be ok because I doubt they will do that.

Number 3 (Want)

Jaden: There are many Pokemon out there waiting to be used, the problem is, a lot of them aren't very good. As a competitive Pokemon player, I would like to use a larger variety of Pokemon in battle. So I really want new support to Pokemon that don't get much support.

Thundrr: Going through Pokemon that get support, there are a lot of things given to Pokemon like Charizard, Gyarados, Garchomp etc. But some Pokemon barely get anything.

Jaden: Personally, I would really like more physical electric type moves so that Luxray can be viable.

Thundrr: Yes, make that happen.

Number 3 (Don't Want)

Jaden: This is going to be a bit controversial, but it's my list so I can do what I want. I do not want Mega Evolution back.

Toxic Fans: WHAT!!!! HOW COULD YOU!!!! MEGAS ARE AMAZING!!!! YOU ARE A FILTHY SWINE!!!!!

Thundrr: Shut up and let him speak.

Jaden: To be honest, I don't hate Mega Evolution, but I don't love them. While it is fine to give Pokemon a new form in battle, my problem is which Pokemon get it. There are some Pokemon that I was happy that got Megas like Mawile, Beedrill and Ampharos, Pokemon that aren't commonly seen in competitive. But giving it to Pokemon like Blaziken, Lucario and Rayquaza was not necessary because they were already strong enough. To top it off, Charizard and Mewtwo get two. This has always been a problem for me.

Thundrr: You tell em Jaden, they need to see the bigger picture.

Number 2 (Want)

Jaden: Not many have said this but this is something that I do want in the remakes. I want them to keep some of the Sword and Shield Mechanics in.

Thundrr: Like?

Jaden: I want them to keep Nature Mints, Cram-o-matic, Egg Move Passing and Pokemon Camp. All of these, I love and I don't want to lose them.

Thundrr: That I can't complain.

Number 2 (Don't Want)

Jaden: Something that I never really liked in Diamond and Pearl was the fact that they had the weather effect called fog. As a kid, I never knew where the Defog HM was so I had to traverse the fog and it was annoying as hell. They made a HM just for one specific thing and it never gets used again.

Thundrr: While I do hope the fog is gone, it might not be. But I do hope that GameFreak makes an item to get rid of the fog.

Jaden: And I hope it isn't single purpose.

Thundrr: That too.

Number 1 (Want)

Jaden: This I have been wanting and it is something that is dear to Diamond and Pearl. I want story based Pokemon events back. Sword and Shield kind of did it with DLC which I will hand it to them, was enjoyable. But they still had some non story stuff like Zarude and Zeraora. I really want all the stories behind the Mythicals to be brought back.

Thundrr: Things like Shaymin, Darkrai and Manaphy. It would be amazing to have extra content rather than some random guy giving you a Pokemon.

Jaden: Also, release the Azure Flute this time GameFreak. It's not as complex as you think.

Number 1 (Don't Want)

Jaden: This isn't a big thing, but it has been a running joke between us Gen 4 fans. Get rid of Mindy. For those who don't know, Mindy is an NPC in Snowpoint City who trades you a Haunter for a Medicham. Now some might say "Oh, it's a trade evolution Pokemon, we get a free Gengar".

Thundrr: Oh you couldn't be more wrong.

Jaden: Turns out, that Haunter is holding an Everstone. After trading with her, she asks if it changed and then laughs at you.

Thundrr: Let's just hope she never comes back.

Jaden: So that was my list of things I want and don't want in Brilliant Diamond and Shining Pearl. Tell me what you guys want and don't want and I will see you later. Cheerio everyone.
