Broken Promises

Peyton(POV)- He made me sing with him. "I'm so sorry." he whispered. That's all it took, but I couldn't give in. So, I ignored him. I wave to the fans, and get off-stage with Jacob trailing not far behind me.

"Peyton, wait!" Jacob yells, and I stop walking. I stay silent and sigh. "Pey," he starts. "You promised me Jacob" I start in a low voice, "You promised me we would be together, and out of this hell. Really Jacob? It's the same hell. Except now we are just farther stuck into the devils game." I say now facing him. "Peyton I- I'm so sorry. I didn't know you heard that." I give him a look, and he shakes his head.

Sami runs up with Matt, and they're laughing. "Hey babes! What's up?" Sami says. "Oh look who finally decided to show up." I say. She looks confused, and walks towards me. I start to walk away, but she grabs my arm. "By the way when you were off with Matt, Jenn told me off. Jacob and I are done too. Thanks for being there, best friend." I say and put air quotes around best friend.

She looks shocked, and stutters for words. "Peyton let's go relax." Matt says, trying to pull me away. "Let go." I state firmly, and he does. I teach into my pocket and pull out my phone. "What in the hell is going on?" Bart says, and I turn around. "I'm leaving Magcon."

"No you're not." he says, and laughs. All the other boys run up behind him. "Yes. I'm leaving. I'm done." I say, and Canerons eyes widen. "I'm leaving too." I hear a voice say. I turn to see Sami slowly standing up. "If she leaves, I'm leaving." Sami says confidently. "Fine, go leave." he says and storms off. Matt gives her a look, but she just nods.

I sigh, and hug her. "You have to stay," I pause, "For Matt." She shakes her head saying no. "I need to leave, for my best friend. We made a promise, and I intend to keep it no matter where I am." I just nod, and dial my sister Sydney's number. Jacob sniffles, "So that's it? We are just done after 17 years? This is how it ends?" he says in a rude tone. "You should've thought of that. I'm sorry. I can't be the second choice."

"Hey, Pey. What's up?" Sydney says. "Tell Mom I won't be home for awhile." I say still staring at Jacob. "Uh, okay. Did the tour get extended? I'm confused." she asks me. "No, I'm leaving the tour. Things aren't working out, and I'm going somewhere with Sami. Don't ask where, because I don't even know yet. Oh, and don't bother to ask Jacob. He won't have a clue as to where I am." Jacob looks like he is going to break. I feel bad, but this is nothing compared to what I'm feeling.

"What? Peyton, are you okay? I'm confused. Do I need to drive down there?" Sydney says. "Well, the 17 years came to a close. He's with Jenn. And I'm done." With that, I hang up. If that's the last time I ever see Jacob, I'm okay with it. I walk out with Sami, and I don't regret it.
